While I Knit the Shawl.....

Yesterday at the shelter operating room it was snuggly cats day.
I could have taken them all home.
For everyone's sake I took none home.
While we were operating a pal arrived with these coffee cup gifts for the team.  How cute is that?
They were filled with Lifesavers, shucks, cause she says we are lifesavers.

I came across these amazing owl mittens yesterday and had to send the photo to Karen my owl buddy.
We saw the great horned owl last week on her block.
I love this mitten.
I only wish I could recall whose blog it came from.
It is not my image.  Does that mean I shouldn't show it to you?
If it was on your blog, give yourself a big old shout out. YOU deserve it.

If you want to change things up with your hat knits,
Head over to BallstotheWallsknits.com
This is her image.

She has a few great hats  on her current post.
She includes the patterns for free too!
I love this sort of inside out one.

While I knit my shawl, I don't have much to show you of my own from day to day.
So I have to search for fun stuff to share, okay?

Bring on the Thunderstorms here today.
They make me so happy

Love that owl mitten - fabulous! Think your rain will be here in Eastern PA by tomorrow. And then back to cold temps....

I've seen that owl mitten before and always wanted to knit it. I haven't done Fair Isle in a long time. I think I'm getting lazy in my knitting and need to do more lace and pattern work.

Cute mugs!!

The detail on that owl mitten is amazing! If I loved owls, I would definitely knit those. I'd rather do cats or sheep, personally.

And you certainly are a lifesaver -- even as a retired nurse!

I'd welcome thunderstorms and rain over the heavy, wet snow (almost a foot) that fell Mon. evening thru Wed. afternoon.

Love the coffee cups - your names on them make them even more special.

Love the owl mitten and the hat. I'll have to check out her blog as I'm always on the lookout for new hat patterns for my charity groups. We have brilliant blue skies and 70 degrees...like Teresa only 350 miles away from each other. Camping tomorrow! Yippee! Love those coffee cups too, what a great idea.
Blessings,
Betsy

Hi Kathy,

Love the links you shared. That owl mitt is my favourite!

OOh, and I just discovered you are making a shawl with Louisa Harding Pittura yarn. Which colourway did you choose?

I ordered 'Kahlo' from England, still waiting for it. Pretty excited about this yarn. How well does it knit? How do you like it?

Hope you are doing ok, sorry I haven't posted much lately (on any blog), just been busy, that's all.

But I haven't forgotten about you!

Hugs,
Ingrid xx

Hi Ingrid

I am using the 603 colorway. The yarn knits like a dream. the color changes are pretty. It is very soft yarn. You will love it. It makes me happy just to sit down an dstart with it every day.

I would love a thunderstorm. What cool coffee cups!! That was very sweet of her. My son's school's mascot is the owl, but I fear colorwork. Fear it I say!

What a sweet friend to bring those treats by. The owl mitts are nice for nature lovers. That's a neat way to wear a hat instead of the other side out.

What a great gift, you are lifesavers! I had a barred owl land 10 feet away from me this week, it looked at me then flew up in a tree. I was so amazed.
Hugs,
Meredith
