Big Breakthrough

This is the Fresh Till Cowl by Rebecca Fox. Free pattern.
I love it.
I used Madelintosh merino in  Worn Denim.
The amazing breakthrough for me with this knit up, is that I am not  itching wearing this cowl.
I cannot tell you how exciting this is for me.
Madelinetosh you may have changed my life.
I thought all wool was OUT for me forever.
I'm in love.
I'm knitting another cowl with the same yarn but a different pattern.
Just for fun, I give you a piece of history.
This is a remote control from long ago.
Fireman and I went to the Chicago History Museum for the first time in our lives yesterday.
Fascinating stuff.

Is there a wool that doesn't feel like wool to you?

MadelineTosh is amazing - all of the yarns!! (Off to get that pattern ...)

Oh I love that Museum! And anything "futuristic" just cracks me up.

Have a good weekend!

I remember well the last time I went to the Chicago Historical Museum. It's a lovely place to spend an afternoon!! I miss Chicago.

I love the soft touch of Malabrigo because it doesn't feel like wool to me. I'll have to re-try Madelintosh. Your cowl is beautiful!

Madeline Tosh makes the most amazing yarn. The fiber almost has a "glow" to it. I love the color you chose. It is just perfect for that pattern.

That pattern IMMEDIATELY went into my queue.

My great grandfather was a masonry contractor and laid the cornerstone to that building. Bit of trivia for today.

Madelinetosh is worth the price for sure.

Gorgeous cowl, my friend! I'm still going with alpaca instead of wool. I remember BEFORE remotes when we had to actually tell the kids to change the channel.. lol. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I love the cowl, good for you being able to wear it. I love Madelinetosh, and Malabrigo but they both make me itch a little.
Hugs,
Meredith
Superwash makes allllll the difference to the itch of wool. It smooths down all the little fibres that would normally stick out and make you itch. Merino tends to be more wearable than other yarns (which is why it's so desirable) and the superwash process makes it more so.

That is a beautiful cowl and I'm glad you get to enjoy wearing it. My favorite isn't wool at all, it's baby alpaca. So soft.
Blessings,
Betsy

Oooooh....pretty cowl!
My handspun is usually on the itchy side but I can wear my handspun Cormo anywhere on my body, it's that soft.
As for yarn, I dunno. I'm afraid to waste my time on anything wool that goes near my neck. I will give MadTosh a try though.

Merino, Blue-faced Leicester, Cormo, Polypay, Polwarth : that's all I can think of off the top of my head! There are lots of wool that are sweet nowadays!
I'm pretty much an alpaca fan but will have to give Madelinetosh a try. Love your cowl!

love your cowl and I love that it is NOT itchy :) I can wear most merinos near my neck without the itch. Sometimes if it is itchy and I ignore it the first hour my body stops telling me it's itchy...I'm weird.

I'm a HUGE fan of Madelinetosh. My husband and pocketbook wish I wasn't ;) Definitely not a scratchy wool for me. But I have some that I have to reserve for the hands, cause I can't have it near my head/neck.
