Staying Warm

My sister in Phoenix just started to crochet.
She made this darling hat for a friend's baby.
Great job Patti Ann!

I'm still recovering from my arm issues after Granny square knittting.  Here's the pile I'm sending off to charity today. (Children of Pine Ridge Raverly group)
You are supposed to leave all those ends unworked.
Feels like cheating.
This is Irish soda bread with a twist.
I only had craisens not raisens...
But the men in the house approved of it whole heartedly.

Fireman and I have been working on ALL of our family photos of the last 33 years.   Good project for us to do together in the middle of brrrrrr January!
I've been really good about tossing out so many photos that are not very good.
I took a ton of photos over the years so it's not as bad as it sounds.

Stay warm. . Keep doing your yarny work!
Love the comments.

Oh dear, I should work on photos...every year I say I will...every year there are more of them! I never even put them in my sons's baby book (bad mother I am). The bread looks yummy and the hat is cute. I keep thinking I will try crochet again...and then I don't. Can't seem to accomplish the knitting that I want to do, so probably a good thing that I don't add another craft to the group.

I did the photos when I sold Daddio's house. They had a closet full. I had to toss so many that were duplicates or just plain awful. There were also lots of folks I didn't recognize. If I couldn't name'em, I tossed'em. It was hard.
We've got a chill here today-finally. The Mister is busy cleaning out the chimney. We just may have a fire tonight.

Your sister did a great job for a beginning crocheter! Your bread makes me want to do a loaf of zucchini bread. Good job on sorting those old photos. I had to do that with a box of my mom's and was amazed that I had to toss 99% of them! Stay warm. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I'm knitting for Pine Ridge, too! Imagine that.

Staying warm here is a wee bit difficult, as the cats lie on top of the heat vents. Rupert and I feel a little chilly, and left out.

Pine Ridge children is one of my favorite charities.

Several years ago, I scanned tons of old photos for my files and sent the originals to my nieces and nephews. I love digitizing photos but labeling them is difficult.

Love your sister's hat.

Oh that bread looks delicious! I love Craisins, but I limit myself since they are on my "not-so-often" list of foods.

I imagine they would be wonderful in soda bread. Bet your house smelled wonderful while that baked.
Ohhh, not sure that I could send something with non sewn in ends! It would make me feel funny, but if that is what they have asked for then it is the right thing to do isn't it. xx

Very nice hat!! Cute as can be.

That's a nice stack of square to send off. It would feel funny to me, too, to leave the ends on.

The bread looks delicious.

That Irish soda bread looks great! I'm not surprised the household approves!

Your soda bread looks yummy! When can I expect my loaf ;O)? I like how your sister used nontraditional colors in the hat. She did a great job.

I knew we were kindred spirits! I make things for Pine Ridge too. I also send hygiene kits a few times a year with a hand crocheted or knitted washcloth, toothbrush, shampoo, lotions, toothpaste, comb, etc. I put it all in a gallon size ziploc bag. They seem to be very appreciated. Your sister did a great job on the hat. Is she also donating things? (I find a generous spite tends to run in families.).
Blessings,
Betsy

Love the squares! I looked on ravelry and couldn't find the Pine Ridge group. Most of my knitting is charity knitting.

Rest that arm....it's nice you are donating the blocks-even if it looks like cheating! lol
Kudos to your sis for her good work.
The bread looks delish ....

Cute hat your sis made! Maybe she could crochet for you, and you could knit for her? Hope your arm gets better quickly. We have lots of old photos from my grandmother that I don't know what to do with........not to mention a zillion of our slides!

I sent about ten shawls to Pine Ridge in the Fall, and a ton of socks I found on sale at Target for little toes. Hugs to you,
