Fireman Calls them Mini and Maxi

Pie is a third of Fezzik's size.
Fireman calls them Mini and Maxi.
Mini rules the roost.

They make me smile.
My sweet dear mom is slipping into a deeper state of the disease.
She has only opened her eyes once this week on my visits.
I hold her hand and talk softly to her.
I pray she slips away.

I'll be watching Grease LIVE tonight.
I love all the previews of the dancing.
It will make me smile.
I'll be knitting some very quiet socks for my sister.
I'm going to visit her soon and I want to bring her the kind of socks she might wear.  She is a earthtone kind of girl.

Daddio also has been in that place for the past few weeks. He did rally on Wednesday and make a bit of contact before I left. I am not sure if I like it better though. I have an easier time walking away when he doesn't know I'm leaving.
The kitties are adorable sitting there together. I am so happy it has gotten mild again. I love to see the outside kitties sunning themselves and looking relaxed. We've got a week and a half of temps in the 50's and I am going to enjoy every day. Who knows what February will bring-but I did see some daffodils pushing through this morning!

Kathy, I am so sorry about your Mom. Every time I went to visit my Mom the last year she was alive I prayed that she would pass, she would have been mortified to know she was living this way. She was a proud, proud woman. I wish you peace my friend,
Meredith

Love the kitties...will look forward to seeing your'quiet' socks on the needles.
Sorry about your Mom though it is a relief to see them slip away like this because she has actually been 'gone' for a while. So hard.
Hugs to you and all good thoughts about your Mom. xx

The ruling usually goes that way with Minis and Maxis!

People are afraid/ashamed to say that they hope they're loved one's time is near, thinking it makes them look callous. But if you have felt that way, you know those words are out of love --- that the suffering end. I will keep you and your mother in my heart.
Oh my - Pie looks so little! What a beast Fezzik is!
Sending peace and love to you and your Mom.

So funny that Mini rules the roost!

I'll be watching two hours of Downtown Abbey this evening, and I am so looking forward to it!

Fezzik looks like he is saying, "Mom, can't you make Pie stop bossing me around?"

your mom has been in my daily prayers since you first mentioned her on the blog (and I read it). I hope she is comfortable and I bet she knows you are there with her.

I'm so sorry to hear that about your mom. I will keep you both in my prayers.
Adorable pic of the kitties! Isn't it always the case that the little ones end up being in control.:-) Sorry about your Mom. That has to be so very hard to go through. My thoughts are with you and her.

Even though your Mom is slowly slipping away, subconsciously she knows that you are there and that you love her. Hugs

Your sister will be very happy with the socks you're knitting.
