The Ordinary is ExtraOrdinary

 1.  There is a gift hat being knitted.
Yes yes I know there are only 3 days left to Christmas eve....I enjoy this!
 2. There are Christmas stockings knitted to perfection at my LYS
 3. The gift hat is pinks and purples

4. This not working thing makes the Holidays so much less complex.

5. I never had time for many Christmas movies.
Yesterday I watched,
COME TO THE STABLE.
It is a 1940's movie that is not Christmas but it is so sweet.
Have you seen it?
I came across it flipping channels in a desperate attempt to avoid sports of any kind.

6.  My sweet mom turned 82 yesterday.
We sang to her over the weekend.
She was, as always, in the moment.
I pray she'll go to Heaven soon.
She would NOT want to live this way.

7. I came across old family movies from my children's holidays at my parents' home.  I felt like Clark Griswald up in the attic watching his family films...
It was so wonderful to see my Irish Nana reading to my children.
Allison is all of 4 and she is playing with her doll while Nana reads to them.
Al interrupts and says,
"Nana how did God make bones?"

Nana stopped and said, "Well that's the smartest question I ever heard.
You dont know and Nana doesn't know. "
Nana's brogue is even more adorable than I remember.

8.  Make a film today this Holiday if you can.
THey are joyful so many years later.

9. Don't edit it.

10.  Just film the Ordinary.

Such a lovely post - we should all make the effort to notice and appreciate the ordinary.

Isn't it wonderful to finally have the time to take care of Christmas preparations and NOT be working full time on top of it? And have time for a movie, if you want!!

The ordinary, given some time, becomes the extraordinary! Of that I am SURE!

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!

I just had my old vhs tapes turned into DVD and it is so fun to watch the kids at Christmas when they were young! I love looking at my young self and as for The Mister, I get it now why I'm here with this old geyser. He was some honey back in the day.

I love kid questions like that. My little one asked once during a summer at Christian camp how tall is God? Those intarsia stockings are wonderful. Once I'm free of holiday craziness, I want to knit my husband a stocking as me and the girls have handcrafted ones.
Lovely socks for wonderful presents! Christmas is almost here:)

Kathy, I love how in the spirit of the Season you are. I prayed everyday that my Mom would pass, she would have been mortified knowing how bad she was. Happy Birthday to your Mom, 82 is so young.
Hugs,
Meredith
