Self-Serve

1. Tried using the self-serve computer at the Post Office yesterday.
LOOK OUT.  I loved it.  No line, no hassle, no chit chat!

2. I love the self- serve library stands at my branch.   I can only imagine Allison as a child wanting to stand there and work that machine!

3. Occasionally I do self serve at the grocery store....and sometimes in Spanish for practice...
to amuse me

4.  Of Course there is self-serve Soft frozen yogurt which makes me feel like the soda jerk.  So fun.   See it doesn't take much...

5. I'm not into automation for everything of course.  But man oh man the post office thing made my day yesterday.

Do You Self Serve?  And do you thank yourself?

I do self serve! I never think about thanking myself though. :)) Thanking myself would dovetail nicely with my Be Nice to Me program!

I HAVE done self-serve --- but, I never thought to THANK myself.

(Thank you for shopping at Wal-Mart, ME!) LOL

Those postage stamps are adorable.

Sometimes - sometimes not. It's great as long as the machine doesn't require perfectly pristine bills (sometimes I pay with actual cash).

Love, love, LOVE the Peanuts stamps. The soundtrack to the Christmas special is one of my favourite Christmas albums, and "Skating" one of my favourite tracks. Looking at that last image, I can hear the music in my mind. :)

ALL the time. I'm with you on the USPS shortcut, but can't understand why more people don't use it.

I almost always self check-out at the grocery, unless I've bought a lot of things. SO much easier.

I use the self-service at the library but that is all they have! So I don't have a choice--I do love it though!

The grocery stores we go to don't have them (one if a small local chain and the other is Trader Joe's) and I use a small post office outlet at a local variety store (I sound like I live in a 50s movie) so no other self serve for me! Although I use the ATM all the time and almost never go to the bank.

Self check-out is convenient as long as all goes well, but when the machine doesn't take the money properly it is a BIG hassle to find someone to assist.

No; I haven't tried that, yet didn't even know it existed. I don't think the post office I go to as that though. There usually isn't a line anyways altho w/the holiday season maybe more so now but I don't need to go to the PO this year.

I don't do self-service at the grocery as I like to be waited on instead of doing the work myself. LOL! We live in a little country town and a tiny post office.. so that is not an option here. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I do use self-serve and like it until there is a snag--something doesn't ring up properly or the voice says something that does not compute. I may use it a lot more during Christmas shopping and I HAVE to try the post office thing!

I do self check out if I'm in a hurry but I have a huge attitude. I feel like they pay minimum wage for someone to check me out and I'm doing it for them for free. It's my age I think...

I use self-serve at the grocery store, but if something goes wrong, it's a hassle. Now at our doctor, you can check yourself in! Again if it messes up, you have to do so in person which doesn't mean anything is faster. Oh well, it's time to slow down, right?
I am not a fan of self service as a rule - I am never able to just serve myself, someone always has to come for something! However, I can totally see how at the post office it would be great after the inquisition I had about every single thing I posted the other day. Did I want proof of posting, did I want an individual receipt, what was in the item.... Most of them were just Christmas cards!! Glad that it went well for you! xx

I obviously do not have as many self-serve options as you do, but I sure use the ones at Walmart if I don't have some crazy item that's going to give me fits. I love getting in - getting out...

I do self-serve, but sometimes I worry about job loss for others.
Love the stamps!

I do self-serve sometimes, but in principle I am against it. I don't like that companies are employing less people in order to make more profit, and I honestly need more face-to-face interaction (I am an introvert with reclusive tendencies :)
Love those Peanuts pics!

Love the Charlie Brown pics! I generally do all I can at home-online library, online purchase of postage, etc. In stores, I hate to use self-serve because I like to talk to the cashiers and give them a kind word in a season of hassle!

I self serve all the time. The only one I hate is the gas thing. I long for the days of driving up and just saying "fill er up!". I always smell like gas when I'm done.
I love my new self server at the library. I just put a book on hold and didn't realize it's all self serve now. You just pick your book up from the shelf and beep it out. Sweet!

i like the self serve, except for international. I like it at the grocery store, except when I have booze and I LOVE it at the library. :)

Love me some Charlie Brown. I feel a little Charlie Brownesque this season. i'm working on it. :)
I have to admit, I like self-serve a little too much. I'm totally anti-social. Now if only I could do self-serve hair dressing.... I know they mean well, but i just want my hair cut - I don't want to talk.

I actually don't like technology so I always and I mean always go for the check out with a real person, but to circumvent a line at the post office I might reconsider.
Hugs to you,
Meredith
