Almost Finished Cowl.....and Fingerless

The cotton cowl will be wonderful and soft.
I have to find and sew on two dozen buttons.
There is no pattern.
I just cast on 40 stitches and knit some rows and purled others at whim.  Then I did a row of k2tog, Yo for the button holes.  It finished with a few rows of garter.
I used the lovely soft Misti Alpaca in Cotton/Silk.
Today I will work on Abby's fingerless.
She misplaced the pair I made her in the move last spring.
I'm using wool from the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool
Festival.  It is a quick knit.

I realized I can make gauge depending on how the yarn and needles feel as I knit.  If I'm fighting it, I know I can go up a needle size or two.

Hope you get some needle time today too!

That is a unique finish. It'll be interesting to see what buttons you use which reminds me two of my cowls need buttons. Another thing to take care of, sigh. I'm planning to whip out the purple mystery after I finish typing here.

Sewing on buttons is NOT one of my favorite things to do. I'd almost rather have a root canal. ;o)

Love the gray yarn!

I'm glad to see you're enjoying your knitting. I had to put my hitchhiker scarf aside while I finished my cards and decorating.. but can't wait to get back to it. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Good knits Kathy! I think I might be missing the knitting time tonight. I'm taking a cooking class with an old friend...

The cowl is crazy cute! No needle time for me today-at least not of the knitting variety. I'm still sewing candy and snow onto gingerbread houses. Argh....

It has been a busy day and I am just sitting down to knit! Yes!
Your cowl is incredibly beautiful; great work!
The fingerless mitts will be a good knit, enjoy!
Looks like the cowl will be nice and cozy.
I managed a few more rows on Dad's socks, but that's about it.

I have not run into a cotton-silk yarn, but it sounds like a dream to wear -- not so much to knit with, though. Is it hard on your hands?
So nice of you to replace the lost mitts!
Your cowl is beautiful! xx

I did while watching an online kineseo taping course. It was a good course and even better knitting time.
Hugs,
Meredith
