November is HERE

I've joined November NaBloPoMo which means I'll post every day of November.  This isn't difficult for me, at all. Posting is part of my morning.
I'll try to get the icon on my sidebar, and that may be the most difficult part!

My pal Linda has been so busy knitting critters. She is obsessed and loving it.  So far this is her little zoo:

I'm working on my lace shawl and I have a question for y'all:
How do I join the second skein and not have it show later.
Thick yarn is much easier to hide at the join.....

I suppose I should join at the end of a row of course....
Tips please?
I'm going to ask you for tips every day of November.
Because you a very smart bunch of yarn folk!

Happy November.
We are supposed to have unseasonably warm temps this week.
In the 70s!
We'll take them!

I usually use the Russian join for adding yarn.

I just lay the new skein of yarn over my needle and start knitting away.... then weave in the ends later....

The Russian Join seems to be everybody's go-to. It's the first thing that came to my mind, too.

Those critters are too cute!!!
I've got no advice for joining. I need to learn a better way too. I just pick up the new yarn and knit and worry about it later.

Your friend's knitted animals are adorable.. she's really making quite a collection! I don't blog every day.. I have set my own schedule of M-W-F. Works for me. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I join in the knitting, I do not tie just start the new yarn. After blocking the daylights out, then I knot and bury diagonally. I never start yarn on the edge because I don't like the way it looks, but that is me.

Like many of the previous commenters, I just start the new skein at the end of a row and weave it in later, doing my best to do a duplicate stitch. Don't worry too much. No one ever notices!

Adorable animals.

Oh how I wish WE were in the 70s! It's going to be 90 degrees tomorrow. That is just WRONG for November.

I join wherever the yarn ends, overlap the new yarn with the old and knti 6-8 stitches with both yarns and then drop the old and keep on going. I will bury the ends by weaving them in before blocks but make sure you leave the ends hanging so you can do any additional weaving after blocking. The joins are secure and never show this way.
The little critter patterns have been calling me, too-these are perfection! Nice work by your friend!
So how was that to post every day? Did you do that? Linda's little zoo is awesome!
