Creating a Monster

The generosity of blog pals is always overwhelming to me.
Deborah of Araignee's Tangled Web sent me a big surprise.

I opened a box this morning with a drop dead gorgeous drop spindle and roving and homemade soaps from Deb.
I'm going to be a spinner!
I thought I wasn't ready, but if she thinks I am...
I am!
You know how I fall hard for all things knitting....
I expect spinning for knitting will be the same.

Tips for me?
This is going to be so fun.....

Good luck with your new project. Can't wait to see it all spun up. The colors sure are pretty.

Happy Spinning! And Happy Halloween, too.

You are a braver woman than I --- I tried spinning, and just never got the hang of it. Probably for the best, though --- I spend enough of knitting already!

Good luck to you!

The trick is just to have fun with it at first. Learn to pull it apart to see how far you can go before it breaks. There is plenty of fiber out there so don't be afraid to tear it up. I've got tons. Let me know if you need more. Watch lots of You Tube videos of people spinning. It took me over a year for it to click but when it does......omg. It's the best stress reliever there is. And remember, your first wonky (art) yarn will be hard to duplicate once you get good at it so save all your attempts. You'll be glad you did.
Great pumpkin! Hope that you enjoy your spinning!! xx

What great gifts from another great lady knitter. Her soaps are fantastic, I'm waiting for her store opening! I'm excited to watch your spinning adventures. Keep us posted!

Have fun! The fiber guild recently had a nationally known spinner come in and teach drop spindle for a day and wheel spinning on another day. Everyone had a great time.

Learn and then teach me. Several have tried, but I still STRONGLY prefer my wheel... which is too much Rosanne and sits gathering dust. Maybe someday...
