Huacaya Alpaca Find at the Fair

Fireman indulged me and we went to the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival.
Retired work pal, Anne and her husband Ed, met us there.
A border collie owned them once, named Alfie.
His memory is revered in their family.
This man knits at the Trial every year.
He knows a lot about the whole deal.
They had an announcer this year which made it even more fascinating.

You have to believe me, that watching the dogs herd the sheep in competition at their Crook and Whistle Trial is as exciting as buying yarn in the barns.
So many of you blog pals are animal lovers too...
I think You'd enjoy it!

Unbeknownst to one another, Anne and I bought the same yarn to bring home.  I kept touching the yarns and the ones that made me sigh were all Huacaya Alpaca skeins.
So that's what we both bought.

I have to go pet it now.
Carry on.
That'll do

I have wanted to go to this fair but this year in particular I was way to busy driving between my house and my parents and Glenbrook Hospital. Oh and I celebrated a birthday too on Thursday. Did however make it to Three Bags yesterday.
I would love to see all that you are posting about -- perhaps another year. love alpaca yarn too

Glad you had a wonderful time.

You read my mind; those last two sentences immediately popped into my head when I saw the jacket.

We do love the sheepdog trials at the MDSW. We used to be owned by a border collie called Ned and a Shetland Sheepdog named Duffy. They were good dogs.

Border Collies are fun to watch work a flock of sheep or a herd of cattle or even a cluster of human kids. Their herding instincts are fascinating.

So many of my knitting pals went to the festival on Friday, so I missed you all! I went with some teacher/knitter friends today and had a great time.
I love alpacas, but their yarn feels scratchy to me. I'll be sticking to wool.

I wanted to go to this but maybe next year I'll make it. My favorite shop Ewetopia Fibers in Viroqua Wi was there. She spins beautiful yarn. I love that top photo.
