Holiday Weekend ....wow

  1. This is some red white and blue for you to enjoy.
  2. It is a holiday weekend, and this, my first summer retired from nursing, I am amazed that I am off.  Holidays and working them was such a part of our married life until we retired. We knew it was part of the deal.   We always felt like we were missing out.  We were.  I am overjoyed to be off all weekend. The whole thing.  Even the HOLIDAY! I don't ever want to take it for granted.
  3. Will you have fireworks?  Our town seems to have fireworks for all 3 summer holidays now. Nothing like the 4th but somewhat of a show down by the COUNTRY CLUB.
  4. Our weather is summery hot and humid.  Great for small knit projects.  I'll be hat knitting.
  5. Do you have weekend plans? Are you off?  To all who labor, be proud of your work.
  6. I'll be here all weekend.  Feeling very lucky to be off

I definitely am enjoying the beautiful yarn. I'm not sure yet what we are going to do this weekend, there are going to be some events going on in town but not sure if we'll be going, we have so much to do around here ;)

Fellow nurse here....I had the same feeling when I retired. I don't think we have any fireworks here for Labor Day. I am hoping to get some outside work done, and then a quiet day on Monday with some knitting time.

I'm thrilled to be retired and able to enjoy the Labor Day weekend, too. Before that, I was in my classroom preparing for the school year. I am thankful I had a good job, and now I'm thankful others have taken over that responsibility.

It's quite pleasant here - clear skies (finally) and slight breezes with temps in the mid-80s. Life is good.

I'll be knitting in the AC all weekend. It's too darn hot and muggy to put one step out the door. No complaints. I'm going to enjoy it knowing I don't have to face an antsy class of first graders on Tuesday morning.

This weekend starts our vacation. I'm sure there will be some east coast beach time AND some west coast beach time. Maybe even a trip to a cross stitch store and a yarn shop AND a day with horses. Vacation couldn't get any better.

Enjoy your time off! You deserve it!

Have a great weekend, Kathy! We are hoping to have a picnic here if it warms up and quits raining. Check out On the Dotted Line by Janet Avila, a cowl that looks perfect for your bulky r/w/b yarn!

I'm excited for the weekend. I might actually bring home some paperwork, but other than that there will be labor I want to do (knit and house) and some appreciation of a 3 day weekend happening for sure. I'm grateful for the break!

I've fallen in love with bulky yarn, after having avoided it for almost all my knitting life. Yours looks delicious.

What will you do with that pretty yarn? I'm very happy for you that you're appreciating and enjoying your retirement. We do too! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I think I could dive into that beautiful yarn, I love the cream color. I hope you have a great weekend. I am pressure washing out by my pool area. Not all that exciting but it will be nice and mold free when I am done. I also hope to knit, I haven't touched yarn in five whole days!
Hugs,
Meredith
Gorgeous looking yarn!! xx
