Beware of Beige

Certainly without intending to, I've surrounded this post in beige.
What does this mean?
Is there a National Beige day?
Does it precede Labor Day?
Beige it the color of rest is it not. ?

When have you been able to resist a nap when surrounded by that quieting color of beige?

Let's start with the newly cast off Beige hat.
The Broken Rib Hat by Mari Chiba is a free and easy pattern.
I love how the pattern stays in place all the way to the cast off.
I'll make another.

Blehm and Beige  and to BLATHE.
Or to dither on and on about nothings..
Oops thats going on right here.
For all the Princess Bride fans, TO BLATHE is a funny quote and scene in that enormously funny movie.
For all the non fiction fans, this looks to be a great read.

We had a guest for dinner last night.
Zach's friend, Effy, from Mexico, is in town.
She got married last year and Roman and Effy remain Zach's best pals from his life in Mexico.
How Beige this table looks eh?

Wishing you a beige kind of day.
In the best kind of way.
What's your favorite use of beige?

We live in a rental house, so the entire thing is painted beige. I compensate with pops of colour in my fabrics and decorations... certainly makes decorating easier!

Beige has such sad connotations--instead why not call it a versatile neutral? :-)

Our old farmhouse was remodeled by Dayle's cousin and when we bought it everything in it was beige.. paint, carpet, wallpaper. I have finally erased almost all of the beige from the walls... now they are butter yellow and lime green. :-) I use beige sparingly in my life. But it does have it's place. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

My kind of beige today is a salted caramel mocha from Starbucks.

The broken rib stitch is a good one for baby blankets, too.

I prefer off-white or ivory over beige.

Just finished that book. Very interesting but sad. We used to hike in the Sierras and recognized a few of the places mentioned, so that made it very personal.

The hat is fabulous! I happen to like beige because for me it is the natural color of most sheep fleece. It reminds me of cozy aran knits with fantastic cables. Lace looks great in beige and most Fair Isle has some beige to give the other colors something to play with. In the wooly world, it is a very important color!

Hmmm... I like cream, beige sounds so old.
