An Unusual First day OF Autumn

Al's friend Heather is modeling her just knitted hat.
AL says it is Plymouth Yarn Gina.

My never ending blanket is coming along....very very slowly.
It seems silly to show you tiny progress, but it is all I've got this morning!
I'm searching my stash of leftovers for more blues and yellows....I think I'm running out.

Finally today,
It is the first official day of Autumn here.
We only know this by the early to bed sunsets in the evenings.
Our weather has been spectacular for the last 2 weeks.
Sunny 70s cheerful bright!
Welcome Autumn!
Why is this an unusual Autumn?
Well a certain Major League Baseball team is in contention and that's not the norm here in Chicago!
Dear Autumn:

May you be a magical one for the CUBS this year.
We are counting on it

I can only dream of the 70s. It's 100 degrees right now at 8 pm. Not so Fallish! The blues and golden yellows in the blanket are lovely.

We have been so fortunate with the weather lately. OK it did rain on my birthday a few days ago but that is ok.
I have been trying to make a blanket-throw since January. So I applaud your work. I have stated a few excuses but with the warm weather in the end of summer beginning of Fall that has appeared now in the Chicagoland area I do not want to have something warm on me while I knit. I have also been running back and forth between my place and my parents doing the driving for them and for my brother and well I guess I want easy knitting when I pick up my needles.

That hat is a cutie. Your blanket is so spectacular. Every time I see it I smile. Those colors are happy, happy, happy.
Happy fall! I'm changing out the curtains today and putting some autumn picks in the door wreath. We are also cleaning out all the outside kitty huts and testing the heating elements. Nights are starting to get chilly here.
Go Cubs!

Your blanket is beautiful!! I love the colors--so bright and happy. I know how you feel about blankets, my baby blanket is taking forever. It never seems to get any larger.

I wish Texas could have even one day of ''sort of" fall weather! I am so ready for cooler weather. I think I want to come back to Illinois.

Good to hear the Cubs are doing well.

Autumn weather is THE best, especially clear, warm nights that are perfect for watching a high school football game or going on a hayride.
The blanket looks great

That is because you all stole our Joe Maddon, he is the best and our Rays miss him so much because we are near the bottom and that is no fun at all.
Hugs,
Meredith

I'm just starting a slouchy hat and I'm hoping it turns out just like that one. Fingers crossed! I live near Toronto so we are also having a great baseball season - go Blue Jays!
