A Very Odd Hat

So ....I am in a hat making mood.
I wanted to use up  some sock yarn, Regia, for a hat.
I found the ABC pattern For the  Fair Isle Earflap Hat and cast on.
You knit the whole thing on straights and seam up the back when finished.

You pick up the brim stitches and knit 2 by 2 rib for 20 rows.
You pick up the crown stitches and work decrease rows.

Shhh, I haven't seamed it yet.

It was fun to reconstruct a hat in a different way.
I did not want the flaps.
Would I knit another?
Not likely.

I'm casting on for a new hat today.

The photos from my iphone....meh...not loving them.
It appears as though I have a filter on the lens but I do not.
Hmmmm.
Maybe I'll put my fisheye lens on again and see what happens.

Still not willing to buy a new camera.
 Hope you don't mind!

I like your hat adventures! Seaming ... blech. If there is a way to avoid it, I highly approve.

I will be honest all my photos are iphone photos. I am not a good enough photographer to get a fancy slr thing and I'm too lazy to consistently upload from a point and shoot to my computer or drive in the sky. I use natural lighting as much as possibly or a combination of house light/ natural window lighting, but no flash. fuss with focus by picking a spot within the frame to focus on , sometimes it changes the lighting. sometimes I pick something just outside the center. Really at the end of the day it's fussing, right? And sometimes it looks great and sometimes it's Ok. hehe.

Hmm...yes, a very odd hat. I have not made a hat that seems up the back...yet.

You asked if riding a 4-wheeler hurts my back. Not at all. In fact the movement seems to help strengthen those muscles. If I'm going over really rough terrain, my arms may get a little sore keeping the wheels where I want them to go, but that's about it.

I look forward to seeing the hat done.. I usually crochet my hats and have made some ear flap ones for my granddaughters that turned out very cute. I still recommend a LUMIX camera for you. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I avoid patterns that require seaming. I'd much rather spend my time knitting than seaming.

That's an interesting hat. It reminds me of that sweater I knit sideways. It didn't make any sense at all until it was all done.
I need to learn how to take photos with the camera on my Chromebook because I hate downloading then uploading photos from my camera. It takes soooooo long.

Looks like an interesting hat! Hey, some photos are way better than no photos. Always look forward to your posts.

That certainly is an interesting way of constructing a hat, but with a nice result!

I am not very good a seaming, so I'll stick with hats in the round!
Keep working with the phone. You'll figure out how to get pictures you want!
it's always nice to try something new.

what a strange construction...interesting, and we all know, variety is the spice of (knitting) life.
