Shrug It Off is Finished

I finished Lorna Miser's Shrug It Off pattern.
I am in love with this shrug/sweater.
I took me about 2 weeks of regular knitting to make it.
It was so easy, I will make another.
I love the Arucania Pinecone yarn.
The slight hand dye skein difference really isn't noticeable.
I used about 700 yards of the merino and alpaca blend.

If you look closely, you'll see I'm getting gray hairs.
Call me crazy, but I love them.
I won't color them.
I spent years putting highlights in my hair and now God's doing it for me.  She's so smart!

(I should mention the cost of this shrug was about 60 dollars)
I like when people post their costs; it influences me...

I love the shrug too! I think I may need to make one! Don't color your hair. I have for years and now I am afraid to find out what is underneath.

Ooooh, I love your shrug and have added the pattern to my Ravelry library.

I stopped coloring my hair 40 years ago and let nature take its course. I started getting grey hair when I was 20.

Kathy, you look great! I love the shrug and it looks great on you. I've been dying my hair since I was 40. You may not need to color your hair; gray may just blend in.

Love that shrug! It's just perfect and great for chilly summer days (when there are some!?) Cute photos, and I love that braided hibiscus (or is it a rose of Sharon)?

Love the shrug! I "quit" coloring my hair at 40 (I started greying at 20 (thanks to my Mom). My daughters also started going grey at 20, but are still coloring. It's definitely a "family trait" here. But I'm completely white now and love it!

Love the shawl. It may be the thing that gets me knitting again cause I think I need one. Natural hair is beautiful and liberating. I've loved mine for 16 years now.

The shrug is beautiful and so are you in it! Gorgeous! I prefer the length you gave it compared to the example photo. I might have to do this. Hmm, the leftover Eco yarn I used for that cardigan might be sufficient. It's not as pretty or soft as your yarn, but it would be nice to work from the stash. Oh Kathy! You are a dangerous influence!

I don't see any change in color in your knit. It just looks fabulous.

YOU. LOOK. AMAZING!!!!! I am love, love, loving my gray hair. I am proud I have not colored it in over three years. I see a great big streak of gray on the left side of my head and I love it. I also have to tell you I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that shrug. You did a fantastic job and a slight color variation adds interest and depth to a project.
Hugs to you and have a great weekend,
Meredith

Wow....retirement has done you good! Gray hairs or not-you look amazing. The shrug is perfect. It's going to be your best friend this winter. I'd want one in every color.

Oh my gosh.......I can't imagine the softness of that shrug!!!! I know you'll wear it plenty when the chill of the fall arrives.

I love my grey streaks too. I have a cowlick in the front that is completely white. It's my favorite thing about my hair! :-)

That looks great (but I can't think about you trying it on in July *sweats*)! Totally keep the grey - badge of honor and you wear it well.
