Purple Summer Days

Today is purple day at irisheyes.
I was at the Chicago Botanic Gardens today and decided to only photograph the purples.  This time of year you can pick a color and it is abundant in the gardens..no matter what color you pick.

Then I spotted this darling tea cover on Ravelry .

I love the collar and I just might have to knit one.

Yesterday Carole knits asked for your summer bucket list.
I realized I've already crossed off a few on mine:
*Gone fishing and caught a walleye!
*Knit mittens to donate...and more to come
*Visit Botanic gardens in bloom
*Learn a new game: splendor
*Watch favorite summer movie again:
Apollo 13
*Learn to drink coffee : black
*Get out on my bike more
(I rode to Lifesource to donate blood yesterday and rode back)
*Donate blood this summer
*Keep Beatles happy on his leash in case we try for Therapy Cat
*enjoy thunderstorms
*nap on the porch
*read more books:
I finished Cat Angels
and read Beautiful Eyes about a dad and daughter.

and it has only just begun.

Pretty. My mother loves irises. She used to have them in her yard but now that they live in a condo it isn't very often that she has irises. My sister who bought the land and built a house (on the same property) now has irises growing in her yard (the same yard).

I love your purple theme. The gardens look amazing; I should check them out some time!
My goal for the summer is to relax enough to be ready for another school year!

I must say that purple is one of my favorite flower colors. I also like to wear it! I wish I lived near a botanical garden, I'm hoping sometime late this summer of going to the one near philly.
My gardens are mostly pink, purple and white. But now I wish I had room for a pond - I want some water lilies!
Great purpleness!!! xx
