That yarn looks yummy...not so sure about the book, that might not be a good one for me - lol. Just finished "At Home, A Short History of Private Life" by Bill Bryson which was really good. And am still working my way through the first volume of Proust's "Rembrance of Things Past" which I'm finding to be slow going but enjoyable (some of his sentences are so long -- whole paragraphs!!). Hope you have a great weekend!

Reading a Debbie Macomber right now. I'll finish the ones I own, but I think I'm over Macomber. LOL

Your book sounds quite intense!

Hector Tobar is my colleague at the University of Oregon! He'll be tickled that an Internet knitting friend is reading his book and sharing it on her blog!!

I am in the midst of reading the Cake Therapist. I just finished Delicious!. Both good books.

I have been trying to knit up a throw that I began in January. I was hoping to have it finished for my sister's birthday (well that has come and gone--early April). I have not done much but I will say I have had a few legitimate excuses. When I had strep throat I was out of commission for a few weeks --tired. Then at the end of April I managed to badly bruise ribs while exercising (only me) and well working on throw (it gets heavy) was not one I wanted to do. I am healing though I feel a twinge every now and again, but I do not want something "warm" on me as I knit--summer time. Though today it is not so warm around here.

Looking forward to the Stitches Midwest in August but not wanting it to come too fast as it means summer will be on the down ward.

As for the throw. I will hopefully get it finished so that my sister can bring it back with her when she returns home (she lives in South FL and in the Winter they have no heat in their house so it can get a bit cold--it would not be used for now). She is in town as her young daughter is going to camp up here and her daughter misses the Midwest and her cousins and grandparents.

Kim. WOW. Tell Hector Tobar I was riveted by his writing from the first sentences. I am so impressed that you know him. My son, Zach, the spanish teacher will be very impressed. He wants to read Deep Down Dark next.

We think alike about Summer and signs of it ending! NO!!!!! I don't think I'll go to stitches this year, but I will try to go to the the Sheep and Wool festival in Wisconsin in early september. I Love to see the border collies work the sheep. I love the two yarn barns! Hope you are completely well and mended soon!

Knitting my big yellow pi shawl and still reading (listening) to Burial Rites. There's lots of knitting in it (set in Iceland) but it's too grim a tale for me. I need to put it on play, take a nap and be done with it already. I need a happy book for the rest of the summer.

My knitting is all over the place and I can't seem to start a book, what is wrong with me?

I'm crocheting on my natural white alpaca shawl.. yesterday while I was volunteering at Multnomah Falls a woman with a big huge diamond ring asked if she could buy it! LOL! I said.. well, it's not done. She asked if I ever sold my work. I said.. well.. the yarn itself cost almost $40.. she said.. that's not bad.. and I said.. WELL.. it takes forever to make something like this.. and at that point she dropped her quest to have my shawl.. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
