Help...Mitten Tips!

The Skies were a mix as the sun set on Wednesday night.

*I had to frog a mitten this week.
I tried to freelance and it did not work.
The fun part is that it is cashmere.
I've had my eye on some cashmere yarn at my LYS for weeks.
Okay, for months.
It was half off.
If I am going to knit myself a pair of cashmere mittens, you can bet they are going to be perfect.

I like a round top to the mitts, but I don't like how the decreases look.  Tips anyone?

Sorry, Kathy, I'm afraid I can't help with this but the sound of cashmere mittens sounds wonderful - I don't blame you for wanting them just perfect!'

Check out this vintage pattern. I love the way they look and fit, so maybe you will too.

Take Nancy's advice! Cashmere sounds like just the thing for chilly winters.

Hmmm....the last mittens I made were with very chunky, textured yarn so the decreases didn't show. I did have that problem with some Selbu mittens once. The problem there was not only the decreases but a pointy top. I hate pointy tops.

My decreases always showed, but I considered it part of the pattern.

I did mittens like I do sock toes.

I'm thinking the cashmere will be a bit fuzzy. Maybe it will hide the decreases.

Cashmere mittens sound heavenly -- especially if we are going to continue to have such long winters!

For round tops, sometimes it works to decrease four times per round.
