Beautiful Eyes Book Review and Mittens

I'm combining some Zara pink with the sparkle berry left overs for the next mittens.  Zara has almost perfect stitch definition.
I do recommend this yarn.
Here is my review of the Book,
Beautiful Eyes, by Paul Austin.

The book is touching and tender.
It is a father's true story of learning to parent his daughter.
She has Down Syndrome.
He is a ER doctor.

At times the chapters he devotes to chromosomal analysis
and history of the diagnosis, are a bit too long and a bit too in depth.
He lost me from time to time there, but he never lost me with the conversations he had with his wife and his daughter Sarah.

He discusses the ADORATION painting from the Renassaince and I had to look it up. One of the angels clearly has Down Syndrome.
This is a beautiful painting made even more so by the perfect Down's angel.  I had to show you...see?

Are you reading?
Are you knitting?
Do tell...

Look at that. Who would have noticed that sweet angel peering in the background.
I am reading....Burial Rites by Hannah Kent. It's grim but I can't put it down.
I am knitting.....socks. I need to put something new on the needles but I can't decide what.

Just bound off a shawl for my niece - now to get it blocked, not a favorite activity of mine.

Finished reading "No Perfect Secret" by Jackie Weger.

I am so excited to see a Down Syndrome angel in a Renaissance painting! I have a girls with Down Syndrome on my caseload this year, and she is indeed an angel. I am going to miss her so much next year. I will have to refer her mom to your post.

I'm having a hard time finding a book to settle into right now. I hate that!
Zara is a fabulous yarn! It's definitely my favourite non-Wandering Cat yarn (I have to love my yarn first, right?)

Good morning! I'm working on a baby blanket for my sister who is expecting her first baby. I'm reading "The Civil War: A Day by Day History" Its a LONG read but very detailed as to what it was like to live day by day on both sides of the battle. I've been reading the past posts and thought I would say Hello.

I am reading: a lot of diabetes info (not exactly thrilling, but 'tis necessary)

I am knitting: well --- socks. Lots and lots of socks and a bit on my blanket.

It's neat that there is a Down Syndrome person in the painting.
