Springtime Means: Kittens

Fun surprises awaited us this morning at Spay Neuter Day.
Leprechaun, a  pretty black cat was up next on the Operating room table.
"Hmmmm, think she's pregnant? " Wonder Vet asked me.
"I think I can feel one in there..we better check"
So instead of spaying her we did the ultrasound.
Yup!  She's pregnant with at least 4 kittens.
This is not my photo but you get the idea.
I didn't take her home....for fear Fireman would leave...
I do love the birthing part of it all.
The shelter needs more fosters, they always do.
It is such a fun thing to do that I encourage you to do it and help out if you can.
Springtime means kittens, even with the harsh winter we have had.

This is the the only cat I think I can knit.
It is on my list of somedays!
It is Sleepy Kitten, a pattern on Ravelry.

Spring rain is falling today and it is welcome..
April showers and all that!

Hope your day is Purrfect!

I am sure I have said that I he to foster kittens and I loved it, but now I live with Keith and he doesn't want his cats to catch any illnesses.
I think I could make that knitted cat, too!

Hope the little mama does well and finds a good foster home.
Springtime means I'm getting yelled at by a certain kitty, anytime I get remotely near the back door.

Kittens are so cute.. but I'm done with cats after my dear sweet Lucy shredded our entire living room set down to the wood frame and shredded our leather recliner arms. NMC. But I still think they are cute. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Awww....poor sweet kitty. So many cats, so few homes. We've got new ones that show up everyday now. The males are ready for some action but all my ladies are out of business. Those wandering Toms get a meal but nothing else.

I agree, thank you for all that you do! Cats are hard to find foster homes around here. Love the kitten you've decided to knit up.

It is a tough life for cats out there. One of the foster parents I work with feeds the foster cats that are living around her house. She is planning to catch them and get them fixed before the colony expands.
Hugs,
Meredith

Interesting you mentioned that as DD had her mama cat and daughter cat spayed the day after we arrived. Wow, what a difference it made in mama! You must have earned several stars in your crown for all the fostering/volunteering you've done!
