What? My Year of Socks????/

My resale shop find of yesterday was this floral bowl.
I wanted something SPRING not necessarily Easter.
I didn't go looking for this bowl, but when I saw it...well...you know.

Da Bird was purchased to get the cats playing hard after Rozzy's death.  We have had them before.  Miss Pie is completely obsessed with Da Bird.  She will stand before the mantle where it sleeps and howl at me to play with it.
Tank must love the sound of the feathers in the air because he comes too, from one of his beloved sleeping perches, to play.
I let her carry it around the house a bit after she catches it.
Thats an adorable sight.

Thanks to startitis this time of year, I have 3 pair of socks on my needles.  One heavy wool, one very fine malabrigo and, finally, this gold and green self striper.
This is is my favorite type of sock yarn.
Ambiente by Schoppelwolle.
The tag says to use size 3 needles.
The yarn has some SPRING to it....perfect.

This may just be my Year of Socks.
Just enough complexity to keep me fascinated,
enough sock yarn in the world to keep me buying and
just the right weight for my hands/wrists.

I know you are laughing.
Ha!  How long can she go after the magnificent year of the Trap?
Well, let's just see.

Yes, indeed. The winner of "DA BIRD" must be allowed to celebrate the victory!

Lovely photos, and your header is adorable. I have had 3 black cats in my lifetime and they have all been very sweet and precious. Warm greetings from Montreal, Canada. :)

I love that Tank comes out to watch. Does he take part in the chase?

Just finished three pair of socks for a gift. I MUST use some of my sock yarn stash to make room for more.

Love that pedestal bowl - sure makes your table look Springy!

I love making socks - they are fairly quick to knit and the finished results are fabulous! In fact, I think I'll get mine out and work on them today.

Your bowl is magnifique! What a score! I love the sock you're working on now.. I wish I could get the bug to knit another pair. But I can't wear the pair I made as I have sensitive feet and could feel each stitch. The socks I do wear are fine soft cotton. But I do admire handknit socks a lot! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

You can never have to many hand knit socks. Now because I suffer a great deal from second sock syndrome I have given up making them. I would rather knit shawls I will not use and sweaters that do not fit!
Hugs,
Meredith

Hee-hee. Love the socks. I need to learn to make those. What pattern do you use? Your thrift store find is wonderful. I'd love that sitting on my counter for spring bananas and oranges or whatever. Very pretty. Your kitties look pretty happy in that picture.

Fun bowl! Love those socks-to-be, too. Isn't it amazing how much cats love Da Bird? That photo of Beatle or is it Pie is amazing. I don't know how you get your cats to cooperate like that. Maybe I need to send Ginger and Mocha for a visit?
