Saturday Sizing

This is the sunflower sock on size 4 needles.
It made lovely stripes, but the heel flap join was too loosey goosey.
I finished the sunflower socks last night.
You can see that on size 2 needles the striping effect went away...
I made a round toe finish.

In the end, they will fit and wear much better having been knit on smaller needles.

I Found that getting my STEPS in the Keys was a piece of cake.  Most days we hit 8,000 to 11,000 steps.
Nice weather really makes walking a pleasure and not a chore.

It's Saturday and that means my new favorite TV show is on : Dr. Pol.
Do you watch this veterinarian?
It is not for the squeamish.
I want to visit his office.
I want to follow him for a day.

Happy Saturday!

I love both variations of the socks! Would it have worked to have gone down a needle size for the heel?

I like bothe looks but, like the ones size 4 needles better. I wonder if an afterthought heel would have worked.

I think you'll like the feel of the fabric knit on 2's better...and I think they turned out great!

Why on earth would the manufacturer create a sock yarn that only striped on larger needles! Odd, in my opinion, but then I'm a sucker for striped socks.

Love the #4 needle stripes better, but I think the above are correct in that the fabric will feel and wear better on #2's. I'm amazed what a difference 2 needle size difference makes! Looks like you're enjoying your vacation!

Look at the pretty blue skies and that clear pool of water! Ahhh! Bliss, laying poolside knitting! Love the socks both ways. I've watched several of Dr. Pol's shows. You're right...definitely not for the squeamish, but it's fun. He's so full of energy for his age.

That striping difference is crazy but I think they turned out great! It's a beautiful colorway.

I like both versions. Who know that changing needle sizes would make such a difference!!

Dr. Pol is my #1 favorite show. The family knows if I am watching it, expect to see some cow births, abscesses, and castrations, so I watch it in my room. I also own his book. Love, love that show.
