Day 9, 2015 Attention Span of a Goldfish

You can laugh with me or even at me this morning!
I have the shortest attention span in the Knituniverse.
My baby blanket was not wide enough and I was bored.
I turned it into a baby bonnet.
Just so you are correctly informed, a goldfish is said to have the shortest attention span....of 3 seconds.
I'm not that easily bored, but I'm darn close.

Here's how I converted it:
I cast on 100 stitches on a circular needle.
I knitted the pattern of Knit a row
K2P2 the second row.
I did this for 4 inches.
Then I Knit 2 together across the row.
Then I knit a row.
I repeated these two rows and switched to double points when I decreased so much that I couldn't stay on circulars.
Then I pulled the last eight stitches through tightly.

Finally I crocheted two chains for the ties.
I know of a girl baby who is expected this year...and she's going to get this pretty little bonnet.
I used Zara yarn. It is soft and has a wonderful spring to it.
These tiny narcissus are blooming and a have soft lovely fragrance.  I am so happy to see and smell these little blossoms.

Today's image from Zach's trip to Mexico is the New Years eve
fireworks display from El Charco.
A friend of Zachary's is shooting them off.

So baby bonnets, blossoms and boom!

Hows your Friday going?

I am getting all caught up, bad week between computer repair and work. My attention span is 5 seconds, 2 longer than yours. I am up to 7 in on Lady Kina, but remember I have been working on it for weeks, I should be done by now,
Hugs and happy weekend,
Meredith

Mine is not nearly as exciting! No booms! I knit several rows of lace this morning...concentrate...concentrate!

Love that smell of the Narcissus. I should have picked up some this year, but didn't. Yours look so pretty!

And a mighty fine baby bonnet it is! I must remember that because I am more tempted to rip than to convert.

My Friday is ending a furiously fast week and leading into a lazy weekend. Next week family is coming from Chicago and I want to be ready--as in rested! This is me, reading and knitting.

great solution!!! I never knew that about goldfish....although, if my Dick, the goldfish, is a 'normal' goldfish----I'm not sure he gives even 3 seconds to anything other than his food.

Love the converted baby blanket - made a great baby hat!!!! I'm getting bored with my blanket also, but decided to add some colored stripes to it so that it's not quite so "boring - plain". It makes for good knitting at the two knit meetups I go to each week.

My day has been spent trying to communicate to and coordinate with repairmen. My internet has been spotty at bes,t and since November I've replaced the modem, the router and it still drops service. Finally today, the telephone guy saw what was happening and told me how to get it fixed. Sure is nice to have someone believe me for a change! Sigh. Now, I'm waiting for the tech guy to come and change the router channel. Who knew routers have channels?

Such a cute baby bonnet!

I used to volunteer in a classroom for children with mental handicaps. The little boy I worked with had an Individual Education Plan that was to get his attention span to 1.5 seconds. Yes --- he WAS a handful, but also a very, very sweet little guy.

Brilliant! The bonnet is adorable.
No one has a shorter attention span than me. I only put one or at the most two rows on my many projects every day because I can't stand doing anything more. I line them all up and go to town one after the other. It takes me ages to finish anything but I don't care.

Cute baby bonnet, and very clever of you to think of it. Blankets seem endless to me, too. Don't know about gold fish, but when I had Cub Scouts, they could accomplish anything in 5 minutes or less. What do we do now, they'd say. But that was long ago and they are now on their own, and I wonder what they're doing now!
