Day 3 2015......Sweet Things

Caffeine Girl sent me this wonderful prize package.
I won her orange toned sock yarn in December.
She sent me "Lynn" a pretty sock pattern and a wonder bar of chocolate!!
I did not give up chocolate for New Years...mmmm

I'm always struck by our pretend friends' generosity at contests.

As soon as the sock bug hits, this yarn is on the needles.  I resolved to knit side by side socks all year to avoid the dreaded second sock syndrome which I deplore!

I went to see INTO THE WOODS again yesterday.
My neighbor wanted to see it.
I loved it again.

Meredith posted about her Lady Kina Sweater.
I immediately dropped my cowl and started a Kina.
It took me over an hour to choose the yarn color at Three Bags Full.

I finally told myself, "this is not the only sweater you will ever knit..just take blue" and I did.
On my way home I realized, I've never knit a blue sweater.

Finally, the bitter cold is on our doorstep and so is New Years the cat.   He appeared last night around 5.  I'm happy to feed the poor guy even if he belongs to someone else. Clearly he's hungry.

Can you see him on the porch through my window?

He absolutely attacks the food.

What sweet things have come into your life in 2015?

"Lynn" will be a great sock to knit. Such a pretty color you have too.

Sweet things??? Well, I guess vacation counts. We just got back from a week at Amelia Island. I have SO much blog catching up to do.

I was laughing with Steve this morning about today being the first day of "reality" in 2015. Beach time is so much more relaxed.

I'm not sure why, but I've never had SSS. In fact, I'm more eager to finish the second one than to start a first.

Briton and his girlfriend saw "Into the Woods" yesterday, too. He prefers the stage version, but was taken by a lot in the film.

Love the sock yarn and Hooray we can knit Lady Kina together. I finished my cowl last night so I am determined to get back with it. I love that you are knitting it.
Hugs,
Meredith

Hi Kathy! Haha, the first thing in the picture I spotted were the words BELGIAN CHOCOLATE!!! (Now you know why it's so good....!!!) ;)
And the orange sock yarn is just amazing, but I would make a shawl from it....^^
Thanks for the pic of the mystery kitty, poor thing!
Well, we had homebaked chocolate brownies today which my daughter baked, they were delicious!!!! Yumm!!! :)))
Enjoy!!! And happy knitting with the Kina.

You are very sweet to feed that stray cat. You may have a new pet for life. Lucky you to get that pretty sock yarn. I did one pair of socks and swore off of them forever. :-) I look forward to seeing your sweater, and Mere's.
((hugs)), Teresa :-)

SSS has never plagued me, and for that, I am thankful. I'm knitting two pair now; one from scrap yarn, the other, from two oddball skeins that kind of match.
That's a very pretty pattern!
Hope kitty got his tummy full - he's a pretty one!

lucky winner! I am enjoying a clean uncluttered house, truly missed that but now I miss the kids (a wee bit).

You will love the Lady Kina! I made one last summer, and it's the perfect place for a special button. Found the Lynn pattern! Thanks, I may need to make those also.

So many sweet things Kathy! I love reading your posts. If you don't get me a'giggling you get me a'thinkin' and now I'm scratching my head thinking side by side socks.

I have 2 pairs in progress that I don't even want to look at for completely different reasons. I'm not ready! Perhaps while I let them stew in a corner, this should be my new tactic ...
