Day 23, 2015 Sock Finish

I enjoyed knitting this pair of plain vanilla socks from the top down.
I almost ran out of yarn.
Lorna's Laces Shepard Sport 200 yards of Asia color way.
Who said they look like a latte? You were right!

If you are blessed with small feet that are as wide as bricks,
you can just barely knit a pair with just one skein of yarn.
The only way to finish them within the scope of yardage was with a  Mary Moran Star toe finish.
They fit like a glove!
I'm ready to cast on anew.  I want to knit side by side socks again.
It is the only way to go for me.
These stunning ladies were creating color at the Botanic Gardens the other day.  When they took off their jackets and coats, I was shivering for them.  Clearly these women know how to use color well.

Inside the Garden Cafe, these little buds were commanding attention on each table.  Oh we are so color starved here in the Midwest in January!

How will you COLOR your world today?

The socks are wonderful. I agree that they look like a delicious latte. Great colorway!

I am get pretty hungry for color here too. Not starved yet...buy in another month I will be starved, searching for anything colorful to enjoy while I wait for Mother Nature to catch up. So, to color my world today, I'm changing the picture on my computer screen and knit on two projects, one blue and one purple.

Grey .........grey is the color for today. We have been waiting for rain all day. I can see that it is coming, but it's not here yet.

Congrats to your car turning over 100,000 miles. Mine is at 56,000 and is only 3 years old, that is how much I freaking drive for work! Love the socks and love listening to you chat about side by side knitting and different toe knitting, you are a pro!
Hugs,
Meredith

Love the finished socks - you're fast. Do you knit so many rows, inches, or what, then switch over to the other sock?? Our temps are in the 60's and 70's, and supposed to reach 80 degrees a week from Sunday (SuperBowlSunday). We're about 25 miles south of Phoenix.

Sweet socks! And so cozy....
I put a little color in my life today by buying a new wireless printer. I've been printing out every pattern in my queue all afternoon.

The Botanic Gardens are a wonderful place to have a wedding. My sister actually looked at that place for her reception. In the end it was someplace else.

I love the socks and the color combination is so cozy and comforting - just like a latte on a cold dreary day! Color my world? Purple of crocus, yellow of daffodils, pink and red of tulips and green of clover.

I love the socks, colors and all of it. I am one who is blessed with short feet "as wide as bricks!" Hee-hee. That made me laugh. I can't wait to show off what I have managed to KNIT! Yes, KNIT! Knitting has kicked my ass for years. I've tried and tried and never gotten comfortable with it or liked it, but I believe I've finally done it. I'm really just overly pleased with myself! :)

I'm impressed with your socks! I knitted one pair and it was so complicated to me that I never did a second pair. I also have small wide feet, but I like them that way. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Great socks! They will keep your feet toasty.

I'm working with gorgeous fabric today to add color to my bleak Winter world.
