Gobsmacked...

Yesterday there was a retirement luncheon in my honor.
My locker partner, Anne, crocheted this amazing shawl for me.
I was overwhelmed by this gift.

It is the softest thing in the world.
She told me she used an acrylic:
Michael's Wool -like Loops N Threads.
I'm going to have to buy the store out.
Baby blankets will be amazing in this yarn. ..etc
Some of our nurses and respiratory therapists go to China to teach in a NICU there.  Paula brought this knit bag......half way round the globe to me.  They flew in the night before the party and came anyhow.  Isn't it gorgeous? The embroidery is hand stitched.
I did not want a party but I'm glad they insisted.
It felt like closure in the best way.
I have been privileged to work beside many amazing women.

And there is snow on the rooftops and lawns this morning..
for the times they are a changing!

Beautiful gifts for a beautiful lady. I love the knit bag and the shawl is gorgeous! I really like crocheted shawls but I don't crochet myself. They were right, you deserve a royal send-off after so many years of devotion to so many babies. You are amazing!

It froze in Fort Worth last night and the high today is going to be--32°. Yep, something is changing.

What a wonderful celebration for your changing times, Kathy! The gifts you showed us are very special indeed and speak highly of the respect and affection your coworkers have for you. My daughter has been blessed with good team workers in her nursing career thus far and is so grateful. I am glad you let your coworkers honor you for all the good work you have done in your career :) xx

The shawl is lovely and will be like she is hugging you whenever you wear it. I just saw the yarn she used on sale at Michael's on sale from the 16th thru 22. Might even have been only $1.99 if my memory is correct so do check it out. It was in ads in todays local newspaper.
