What I'm Reading, thinking of knitting and cooking today..

  1.  A great read.  Thank you Allison for this portrait book.
  2. I'm thinking of knitting this cardigan....just thinking on it.
  3. I found a vest that I loved on someone's blog yesterday. She said it was a test knit.  The post was two years old. She isn't blogging anymore. I wrote her a letter asking for the pattern.Fingers crossed.

 4.  This is a new recent picture of Pippa. She is still available for adoption 3 years later...
Pippa needs a great cat momma. So many of the staff have bonded to her.  She just does not sell herself when adopters arrive.
She's still a bit sassy.
5. I'm making homemade applesauce for a friend who had a cycling accident in July. She is a healthy person.  She lost 7 teeth, broke her nose and had 140 stitches in her face.  She still cannot chew.  I just put  a mix of good apples in the crockpot all day and cook it down. Super simple.  I can't wait to deliver it to her later.

6. Are you reading? knitting? Cooking today?

All I can think about is knitting this weekend. (I get 3 days off this week.) There are chores, family visits etc which I already see taking away from my knitting time, which means I will probably not bake, so I have more knitting time. Oh and there is lovely, lovely Post season baseball on this weekend with my team in it!! whoo hoo!

If this fall weather holds, I might make a Japanese curry this weekend ... I mean if it doesn't interfere with knitting ;)

Your poor friend, bless her heart. Pippa is as sweet as she can be. You could make that cardigan, I think you would love it.
Hugs,

Poor friend! How sweet you are making something soft and special for her.
Crocheting dish cloths... much faster than knitting for me, and these will be gifts for December. Cooking hubby a birthday meal of crab and shrimp stew... my house smells wonderful with that simmering on the stove! Reading... just finished Jan Karon's latest Mitford book, "Someplace Safe With Somebody Good". LOVED it!

Ouchy! That's why I don't ride my bike anymore. Too many close calls. You are a good friend. Homemade applesauce sounds delish.
Pippa looks like our Hoover. I'm sure that's why she got dumped off. She's a sassy girl too.

I haven't ridden my bike in years - too many crazy drivers in this area and NO bike trails that are maintained. Several cyclists have died this year - too sad.

Your friend is going to love the homemade applesauce.

Current knitting projects are two pair of socks and a cowl.

Poppa is a sweetie. I hope she finds a family soon.

I am so sorry about your friend's accident. That sounds terribly painful. I'm sure the applesauce will be a welcome treat.

Pippa is beautiful. I hope she finds her forever home soon.
Poor Pippa! I hope she finds a home - I love the sassy ones!

You are a saint. Bless you for being so kind and dear.

Pippa would have been right up my alley before cat allergies! I love sassy animals.

Love that cardi too. I'm hoping you're going to somehow kick me back into knitting gear!

Pippa is darling! I can't believe someone doesn't take that sassy little cat person home with them.

I'm reading Eye of Heaven by Clive Cussler, still knitting on the last 6 inches of the sweater body, and cooking Mexican rice for dinner.

That pattern looks a lot like Lady Kina on Ravelry; I hope you get the pattern you want as I know you can do it. Pippa is a cutie, love those green eyes. Give your friend a big hug; it sounds like that was a pretty bad accident!
