Sweet Thangs

I was forced to go to the bakery yesterday.
Needed a decadent chocolate cake for my pal Linda.
I did choose one cookie, too.
NU=Northwestern University.
Working in Evanston for 30+ years, made me feel part of the University.
Employees park in the Football stadium lot and take shuttle buses or walk to the hospital.
 Black cat cookies....say no more.
 Fall wedding cake.....purdy!
Brach's candy corn cake - I love it.

The Halloween fun is just begun.

There has been some knitting of the cowl.
I'm 2/3rds in.

Has the fun begun by you?

Did you work at the hospital in Evanston?

If yes, I wonder if we met!

My best friend had an emergency appendectomy in 1977--do you remember her?

I spent the first night in her room with her and had to help her use a bedpan. That was my only exposure to the nursing profession!

She then spray painted a bedpan red and gave it to me as a 'thank you'.

Love the kitty cookies.

Not too many decorations in my neighborhood yet, but of course, in the stores it is Hallothanksmas

It must have taken a lot of will power to walk away with only one cookie! We just got back home from our trip and I'm spending the day doing....laundry! (And enjoying being home.)

I love sweets but only in little bits. Isn't it nifty that fondant icing is back in style? I love how it looks :)

In love with the cat cookies. I have to tell you, candy corn = gym. It's beginning of the holiday eating season. (technically it's always eating season at my house, ha!)

YUM! I don't do much with Halloween but I sure enjoy the candy. Maybe I'll decorate and try to "get into it" a bit more this year.
I can't believe it's October! Have a wonderful month. Tammy

I got married in October a few days before Halloween. I wish I would have thought to have a cake like this.

I think you deserve a cookie treat after the big retirement!
