It's a Beautiful Day for a Gansey....

A woman in the ThreeBagsStudio today was knitting up this child's sweater.  She swore to me it is easy and fast!
It is NANTASKET and she's using Encore Chunky.
She's making about a 4 T size.
I may have to cast on one.
She said you start with the ribbed bottom and it seems enormous, but you then do decreases ...like a reverse ruffle and continue upwards to the gansey portion.
I love getting ideas from other people.
(by the way a new post is up at Threebagsfullcorner.blogspot.com. Thank you all for the ongoing support over there!)
My little goblin is at the back gate.
I need to decorate my front porch....I'm thinking lots of spider webs...

Huge thanks to Meredith for her wise words re: the top I thought I'd knit someday (on yesterday's post.)   Phew, thank goodness she knows I'd be very disappointed in the end.   A friend who keeps your knit life in check, is a good one!
Mr. Beatles is tough to photograph.  I took advantage of his sitting on a white towel near the water fountain.  He's such a honey.
Miss Pie had a reaction to her rabies booster.  She was hot...104 degrees and coughing and lethargic.  Not our crazy kitten at all.
My WonderVet knows Pie is a bit of a puzzle and always has been. We don't really know why she is blind from cataracts...
So two shots later: one steroid shot,
one benadryl injection,
we headed home.
You know she's sick if she lets you take a rectal temp on her....
Today she's good as new, and that thermometer is brightly labeled as hers!

By the way we still need your prayers to catch our friends lost cat.  He's been seen 4 times since Sunday...seems he's moving into back yards now...
We remain worried and hopeful.

Beatles is a beauty!

It's encouraging your friends lost cat has been seen three times. It makes me hopeful he will be rescued

Hope Miss Pie is getting back to her "crazy" self soon. Also, hope your friend's cat is getting closer to being caught and returned home. Cute Gansey.
Beatles is so handsome! Hope Pie is feeling better. And sending lots of "come home" thoughts for your friend's cat. It's a horrible feeling when they are lost!

Praying for the quick return to home for the lost kitty. Poor little Pie. I hope she gets well fast and is crazy again. I love the sweater. I'm looking for lots of patterns for our new little baby girl. There will be lots of little girl knitting in my future.

Poor Pie! Shots scare me to death as do those doses of heartworm meds. Don't even get me started on the flea stuff. All important I know but it still scares me to death.
When my kitty got out I searched and searched but he only came back in when I left the door propped open and stayed away from it. I couldn't catch him as he was too terrified even of me while he was out. As soon as he ran back in-about 3am one morning, he just purred and purred and couldn't get enough cuddles. He was filthy and starving but finally home-on his terms. Now he never even goes near the doors.

I do hope your friend's cat stops roaming and gets back home.....what a little stinker. Sorry your pie is under the weather. Frodo gets a big lump from his shots but thankfully that is it for now. Our pets pull at our heartstrings so much.

Good vets take the time to figure out the puzzles, don't they? Our Jessie (Retriever mix) was unhappy with anyone but one of the vets at our clinic. And she (the doctor) would always take extra time and give special care to her.

I love my vet, she always takes so much time with Max and he loves her so much he hugs her and pushes her into the wall. Glad you didn't think I was overstepping yesterday....
Hugs,
Meredith

Has the cat been caught?! Love the Gansey, but I have a little boy to knit for. He's going to be here before I know it, and I haven't done a thing!
