CAT AND MOUSE GAMES

I'm having fun with my new cast on.  The Ridged Wrap is an easy 4 row repeat.  I'm using the Green Mountain green wool
(mohair and wool) from the Sheep and Wool Festival.
When I came downstairs yesterday morning, Something was amiss.
The cats were not on the landing to greet me...
they were strategically placed under the upright piano...

"There's a mouse in our house!" I screeched.
I do not like mice.
At. all.

All four cats, even Bless her heart, Rozzy, got into the act.
Fireman had a broom and the mouse lost the battle.

I've never even given the cats a lesson.
They are so smart.
For certain Beatles, born in our home, has never seen a cat hunt.
Yet he had the final say in the stakeout...

There are many homes being torn down this month in our neighborhood.   I slept soundly last night..knowing my little pride of lions would handle any impostors...

The neighborhood is almost ready for Halloween.

The final blossoms of the year are hanging on to the last rays of sunlight...

You know we change the clocks this weekend right?

A mouse in the house? YIKES! That freaks me out! I'm so glad you have mighty hunters in your house - taking care of business!

The Halloween decorating is looking very spooky...tastefully so.

Love Zach's photo; that's a keeper! Frame it.

Your cat/mouse hunt gave me a big smile this morning. I don't have a cat anymore, but haven't seen a mouse since we moved to Arizona 2 yrs ago.
PS: Arizona doesn't do Daylight Savings Time, so no messing with clocks for us!

I'm looking forward to a bit more light in the AM for the short time that it will last; however, I do not like the early darkness in the evening. Maybe I should move to AZ.

Bravo to your pride of lions and a fearless Fireman with a broom.

I just spent $1786 having all the wires and hoses fixed on my Mini because of .....yep, mice. They ate through my engine like it was cheese. Even got the airbag sensor harness under the seat. $525 just for that. I've got a herd of cats outside so what's up with that? Lazy arse critters.
Love the Halloween photos. No one does it around here anymore. That makes me sad.

Gosh, Ginger and Mocha would have loved to participate! (backup from the West, right?) Looks like a nice new pattern. Not too much Halloween stuff happening here; it'd be really soggy anyhow!

I hope you took pictures of your fearless mouse slayers during the hunt! What brave cats you have--Fireman too! Our mousies stay mostly in the field behind our house. I will not say that we have never had one in the house because that would be tempting fate.

I love your pictures of the neighborhood dressed for Halloween.

I am not a fan of mice, but I can deal with them better than Le Ratz.

I love how festive and celebratory your hood is at Halloween! Zach's photo is gorgeous.

I remember seeing my cat playing with his mouse toy and being amazed that it was "running" ahead of him so well...then it squeaked...and I hit the top of the sofa so fast you'd have thought my feet were on fire.
Must be the season - several other bloggers have mentioned mice. My best friend has them, and I'm pretty sure it's why my kitty Peno is so intent on the kitchen cupboards...

JRTs are great mousers too, by the way. Never taught either of them, and didn't realize what a talent Mugsy was until his spinal cord strokes slowed him down and the mice took advantage...

And I forgot about the clocks. I would have missed 11 am church! I like going to the 5 pm service in town with friends once in a while, but I don't think the Knight likes it.

I'm sure the cats had fun on their little hunt. This time of year, the critters tend to get in the house for warmth.
