As the Trap Moves Along

I'm moving along on the Trap Scarf/Shawl.  Things I like: It is so easy to knit and relax and just watch it grow.
I am not crazy for the yarns although they are the suggested ones.
I would go a bit less lacey and a bit less alpaca next time.
I think the pattern is wonderful and I could do it in Lorna's Laces new Hampsted colorway with an aqua main color.
We'll see about that after I finish this one.

I also think that while I like the Knit Stockinette better than the garter, the edges are rolling and we all know that isn't good. I can get it blocked at the cleaners however.

This would make an excellent gift.  I'm so happy Grace introduced the pattern to me.

So many ways to vary this pattern and yarn and have a great result.

You can not beat garter stitch to stop rolling, I happen to love the colors you are using, hope you keep enjoying your knitting.

Ah yes, the dreaded rolled edge. I've never had success getting it to block flat.

the intention of the designer was for the edges to roll, some are blocking it out some are letting nature take its course

Rolled edges make my shoulders raise, but it also is a style!

I love the color combinations Kathy, the yarn looks yummy!

I love the color changes and I love an easy knit! It's going to be beautiful. I've been told that if you slip the first stitch on each row the item will not roll, but I've also found that's not always true!

I really like the colors, too! Ah, yes, the rolled edges. I have found that even when I've blocked pieces like this, they roll anyway. It's soooo not cool.

I hate the rolling, so I would be going crazy with a St st scarf. Love the contrast.

Hmmmmm "being on a roll" has expanded meaning to me after reading your post and comments, Kathy :) I am thinking that the shawl I want to knit in Merino on little needles and in a simple rectangle may not be so simple after all, but I hope I get past the dreaming stage to find out. Bravo for what you accomplished thus far!

Looks great to me! Love the colors; I guess the plus of the garter one is that it wouldn't roll.

Love the stripes!

Pretty stripes. I'm doing a stockinette baby blanket (that will have a crocheted border) and the rolling is annoying me!
