I'm a Walk Snob

St. Francis was sorely in need of a new coat of paint.
I'm always praying to this guy for a cat or dog I know that's in need, so he earned it.
The stonecrop are emerging.  I love their early bouquets.

So the weather was nice as far as Chicago Spring goes, this weekend.   I was inclined to walk outside.
3 Friends texted me to walk with them.
I'm awful about this.

I prefer to walk alone.
I don't even like Fireman to come along with me.
I think it is because I don't really enjoy it so I want to go and get it over with on my own terms.
I also don't like waiting for people.
2 Friends are notoriously late and slow to show up to walk.
One is a workout instructor and she makes us walk so fast and is so bubbly I just cannot enjoy it.

I feel like a walk snob.  Give me a dog to walk anyway and I'm good to go.
As a matter of fact, I was in the cat room Saturday at the shelter and they came in and asked me to walk the small dogs instead.
They were short in the kennel room.
What a workout that was!
It was also very fun.
I get my dog fix and a workout at the same time.

So, Do you prefer to walk alone?
with dogs?
With a special walk pal?

(knit talk resumes tomorrow.)

I walk alone a lot, BUT if my walking partner's gait is similar to mine, I enjoy walking with someone else. Nothing is worse that being out of breath with some who walks faster or feeling like you are inching along with someone who is much slower. For me, it is often better to walk alone.

I usually walk with someone, but I really enjoy my solitary walks too.

I'm a walk snob. ;-)

I usually walk alone. I enjoyed my walks when I had my dog; she always made it interesting.

I like to walk with the dogs but they don't act like they like to walk with me. It's run ahead and pull momma and repeat. I also prefer to walk alone so I can look at things--sky, flowers, people etc. I'm afraid if I had to walk with your workout friend and she was bubbly and walking fast, the poor dear might not make it back in one piece.

Just me and the doggy!
I'm a walk snob too - I find other people distract me from seeing everything around me. It's fine if the other person is in tune the the same things I am, but that's rare.

Mostly I'd rather walk alone with just my thoughts and my camera. But I do enjoy walking with a friend as long as we have plenty to talk about - but most of those kinds of friends live in other states, so I don't get to do it very often. :)

I like the stonecrop too - like little succulent green roses.

I'm also a walk snob and love the time alone with my thoughts.

I like to walk alone too. I definitely prefer to run/walk workout alone. But I'm not opposed to walking with others, but I don't like it to be the "norm". hehe. Snob too?

What's another name for what you call stonecrop? I think it's the same plant I've always had growing out of pots with strategic, intentional holes...

I'm a walk snob too, because I generally let the girls decide whether we're walking or running. I just can't resist when Sissy bucks and begs for a run, or when Gg trots ahead and glares because I'm holding her back.

Personally I prefer to walk in the cardio theatre at Gold's Gym. I watch a movie while I walk. It's distracting so I don't realize how long I've been walking AND depending on the movie, I tend to walk longer in that room than I normally would.

I do enjoy walking with friends, but not for a workout. I have the same things, I like walking at MY pace, not having to keep up with others. I don't mind slowing down, but don't make me speed up.

Hmmm, that's a lot of requirements as well.....

Walking is a good time for meditation. Difficult to do that if you entertain a guest.
