It's Official: Fireman's Retired

As of 0700 today, Fireman is retired!
29 years in Glenview
1 year in Bensenville.

I'm thrilled for him. Thrilled for us.
Al was home to hug him as he came in the door as her flight was cancelled yesterday.

He'll always be FIREMAN here on the blog.

Congratulations. Being a year into retirement ourselves. I have only 2 things for you to keep in mind. Enjoy your time with the Fireman, but still keep time for knitting and the girls. Second keep your to do list for the Fireman short. No more then 10 items at a time and let him finish the list before you give him the next one. It does take the guys time to adjust being home.

I hope your retirement with your husband goes as well as mine has.

Congratulations on the Service.
Glenview is such a wonderful community.
Hope that you do not have to go out in that snow though today.

Congratulations to you both! I know you and the Fireman will enjoy this next phase. I still remember the post where you were accompanying him on his golf rounds, with your knitting in the cart. ha! That's good love in a good life. I look forward to seeing pics/stories of the next series of adventures :)

Congrats! The Mister retired at the same time as I did and we couldn't be happier home together all the time. He does his thing and I do mine and we talk about it every morning over coffee. Life is good. Poor, but good.

Once a fireman, ALWAYS a fireman.

Mine has been out of fire service for almost 30 years, but there is STILL a LOT of fireman in him. My dad was the same way.

Congrats to Fireman ....and please thank him for all his years of selfless service.
