Christmas Favorites

I love the little fairy who holds onto the candlestick.
Funny thing: fireman has always disliked it.
It was his mother's however and I think she's charming.

*Things I Love About Christmas Eve

*Sunset.  The Eve for me, begins with the sunsetting early over the midwest.

*Guitars a playing…..Zach, his uncle and his cousin
area all great guitar players.  They play carols together for the family at Christmas…

*Grasshoppers (the drink)
I don't drink them.
I grew up in a family with relative after relative who were alcoholics, so they should symbolize disfunction but they don't.
My mom loved to have a grasshopper in a festive glass on Christmas Eve.   Fireman's momma liked them too.

*Lil smokies ……
we aren't good at sophistication here,
but we love the lil smokies in bbq sauce and jelly or rolled in a blanket….

*Putting out the presents…
under the tree

*Watching the cats have a blast in the wrapping paper

*Arranging the Christmas cookies on my 3 tiered dish.

*Waiting, waiting, waiting….for
my Al to come home soon!!!!!!

*Muppet Christmas Carol…..

How about you?

My Favorite Day of the Year. This year, most traditions won't happen because of Daughter's schedule, but, usually, we 1)bake cookies, 2)visit a live Nativity scene, 3)open one gift each, 4) watch "Muppet Christmas Carol."

Yes, it's hard to top Christmas Eve. Tim has to work, but I spend the day enjoying some quiet with Dug and the kitties, cooking, listening to carols, drinking tea (at least until later in the day!), and wrapping up a few last-minute stocking stuffers.

Merry Christmas to all at your house from all of us!

What wonderful favorites you have. Love the candle hugging angel.

My favorites - putting out cookies for Santa, sitting in the dark watching the tree glow, stuffing stockings, watching "It's a Wonderful Life".

Merry Christmas to you and yours. g

Lovely Christmas traditions! I hope all your dreams and wishes come true and Christmas with Al and Zach is beautiful!

We have just come from opening presents at the hospital where our Samantha is, once again. Christmas has taken a different tone and the hope of Christmas a different meaning!!

I love looking at lights with the Knight. We didn't go this year.

Evidently, my strawberry cupcakes (my own spin on the Knight's paternal grandmother's famous cake) are a favorite of my inlaws, and that's kinda' special.

I love falling asleep with the tree all lit up on Christmas Eve. I miss going to midnight mass, but I don't stay up that late anymore!

Merry Christmas to you and yours, friend.

Love, love, love those Muppets at Christmas. I need to get the John Denver album with them. We played ours to death when the kids were small.
Merry Christmas!
Wishing you and yours Kathy a magical Christmas time...Merry Merry Christmas

The gathering of loved ones, sharing of gifts, music, Christmas decorations, and special yummy treats, are some of the things I love in this season, Kathy. I hope you and yours had a Merry Christmas!

ps I even like the last minute knit/crochet projects I somehow find myself completing. This year I crocheted a Christmas sock for my youngest daughter's father-in-law...just in the Nick of time :)
