The Big Finish

A great finish can make me very happy-
how about you?
We put love and time and thought and a bit of angst into the mix and sometimes it comes out nearly perfect.

I have finally mastered reverse shaping..and it has taken me years (And you know it)
I have to come up with a new New - New Years Resolution because reverse shaping was mine for the last decade!
Here he is.  The generic Little boy's Vest.
I see him in blue jeans and a green t shirt and he's out at the apple orchard picking apples....
I alternated rows of green yarn with the variegated and I love the look.
I did a 3 needle bind off for the shoulders.
(Shhh I haven't done the side seams yet.....
but When I have a recipient I will do so)

I broke two needles along the way.
I have no idea how.
I may post with a light tone, but I have some tension in my stitches
apparently!

If something in our knit world continually escapes you,
don't give up.
Sometimes it just takes someone who doesn't speak your native language to get the thought across to you.
(thanks Tamara from Romania)

Beautiful!

I break needles quite often--and if they are metal I bend them into odd shapes. DH said to me "did you sit on this?" No, I just knit HARD.
The vest looks awesome!

Congratulations!

The vest is adorable - I especially like the say you worked the different yarns together.

Congratulations Kathy! You are brave to stick with reverse shaping until you mastered it. My special bugaboo has always been short row knitting! I will avoid it at the cost of not knitting a pattern I want to knit very much. Is there help for me?

Darling.

I have broken a few needles. I remember the first time I broke one I was on the Amtrak going from Chicago to San Francisco and well my father either sat on it or walked on it in our sleeper area. I was a bit heartbroken because I love the crystal Palace bamboo needles. Oh Well knitting needles can be replaced but the time I spend with my parents can not.

I love this little vest - nice job!

Gently nudging you to finish the side seams while you are still aglow with the finish. I've delayed seaming before only to discover that I didn't want to do it very badly. To avoid seaming all together on the next vest, just knit it in the round up to the arm holes.

It's beautiful Kathy! You are such a tough knitter! Two broken needles? Do you hear the Rocky theme song when you knit? ;)

Maybe the needles were flawed. LOL

I love it. I am very impressed at how the colors worked out so beautifully. Whenever I tackle something like that with yarn like that, pooling becomes an issue. I need to put that in the queue for grandbaby.
