Nephew Burns Downs Fence Morning After

Our dear nephew Dave, did a turkey oops.
He smoked the turkey for us and it was wonderful.
The next morning, their neighbors ran over to tell them their fence was on fire.
We all got a good chuckle……
Note to turkey smokers….
they stay hot!

Oh - glad to hear that nobody was hurt and the fence can be fixable. Hubby made a similar oops one year having the BBQ to close to the vinyl siding on the house. Yea - not a good combo - thankfully he only warped and discolored the siding.

So glad Dave's neighbors noticed what was happening in time to prevent further damage, and that before that you were able to enjoy some yummy smoked turkey, Kathy :)

Oh lordy ....reminds me of the All State Insurance commercial.

Thankfully, your nephew did not succeed in burning down his house (only the fence). YIKES!

P.S. Hope the turkey was good at least.
Oops!
Well at least no one was hurt and the turkey was delicious!

Oh my gosh! That is too funny - good thing it was the fence and not the porch or the house!

That's terrible!! I'm so glad everyone is okay. That makes this a Thanksgiving to remember! Smoking meat is a BIG thing in Texas. It's a wonder there aren't more fires caused by them than I've heard about.

Oh no! So did they call the fire department or just your husband? :)

You'll get years of jokes out of this one.

Good golly! Son in Law did our turkey that way and Daughter was very dismayed to see that he had set the contraption up on their porch. Wait until I show her this! Wow....
