Change of Plans

Little Jaxon wore his gansey hat all night at our family Thanksgiving  gathering.
He looked adorable.

Having said to you all that I'm not knitting Christmas gifts this year......
I have to say I caved yesterday.
Once the hat came out, another little niece asked me
(for the second time this year)
to knit her some slippers for Christmas.

So I'll be knitting some slippers by Christmas!
Pattern suggestions anyone?
She's 10 years old.

It is very nice to be asked to knit a gift for someone isn't it?
How many days do I have ???

I caved too. Everyone asked me for things yesterday and right now I am sitting with new knitting on my lap wondering how I am going to get all this done in time. Middle Son even asked for a quilt! Argh....
You had quite a success with that hat. Most little ones won't keep them on a second.
Now back to knitting......

I've knit the French Press slipper pattern and they are very cute! I don't know how small they come though. I'm knitting presents too, though I kinda wish people had asked me sooner!
What about twinkle toes - http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter06/PATTtwinkletoes.html

Don't think about the number of days, just knit like the wind! I'm still knitting fingerless mitts--at least one more pair. You know Christmas knitting is like potato chips, not only can you not knit just one I'm sure they go to my hips because I sit and knit so much!

Jaxon's hat is adorable on him!!

Precious photo. It is so hard to resist the little ones, whose eyes can bore right into your heart.

Why not knit some short-cuffed socks for her then she can wear them as slippers OR socks.

I second the suggestion for French Press. They are SO cute and perfect for a sweet little girl.

They are pretty simple. I imagine you could get them done in PLENTY of time for Christmas.

Hoe cute that she asked you, there is simply no way you can't refuse that order.

I love the "Mary Jane" or "Pocket" slippers. Fun, quick knit, and they're really cute.

I have one hat on the needles, and if it doesn't get done, it doesn't get done.
