Pumpkin Night with Alpaca Warmth

A little town nearby called Highwood, tries to break the Guinness Book Record for lit pumpkins every year.
We went to the festival last night-
I think the drizzle may have spoiled this year's attempt, but
it was spooktacular none the less.
Tens of thousands of lit pumpkins on scaffolding makes a very impressive sight.
I wish my picture  below was not blurry.
In short, it looks like a building made of jackolanterns.
It was in the 40s and the moon was full to boot.
Fireman kept after me to dress more warmly.  I told him I was wearing my alpaca vest and scarf.
I was toasty warm.
There is NOTHING like alpaca warmth.

Finally, my treat for you, again is my candy
mix.  If you love a PAYDAY, mix candy corn
and peanuts in a Halloween bowl and you have a sweet and salty treat!

Happy Sunday Knitting!

The pumpkin lights look like so much fun! My favorite thing about Halloween is candy corn. I never thought about adding nuts to it but I will now!

Isn't it wonderful to finally have days and nights when we can wear alpaca and our favorite scarves!! I love the weather right now.
All those pumpkins Kathy...it must have been a sight to see! Alpaca warmth sounds so cosy !

keep well

Ooh, I love Paydays ... and candy corn. Thanks for the idea. (I wonder what would happen if you melted them together?)

The pumpkins look amazing, and you're so right about alpaca warmth. I have an alpaca scarf bought almost 30 years ago and it's the warmest thing I own. I wear it every winter. :)

WOW! What an amazing idea to try to light so many pumpkins at once!

I have tried to spin alpaca, but have yet to knit anything with it. Your testimony encourages me to knit alpaca scarves for my grandsons who live in NY, Kathy.

Whoa! I would love to see that display in Hightower! Did you know that Starburst has put out it's own brand of candy corn these days -- random, I know! I like to eat my candy corn one color at a time, alone without any snacking competition. hehehe.

Darn! Wish I'd seen this before I went to the store this afternoon. I totally want to try that mix. I love a PayDay and peanuts, but I've never been crazy about candy corn. Hmmm...

I so agree with you! When I wear alpaca I break out into a sweat :) Lovely insulating fiber. The photos are beautiful and I hope they win the record!
