The Knitting Brain

When you keep track of your knitting as I do
(ahem)
you need a little help.

I was studying the Theory of Neural Plasticity
this week for work.
(dont' I sound smart?  It was a fascinating
lecture for NICU nurses actually)
and I came across a saying in the BRAIN world:

What Fires Together Wires Together.
In other words what you do over and over or experience over and over builds strong pathways in the brain.

Some other sayings I know:

Flip Float and Follow
(if you are swept up in a riptide)

Stop Drop and Roll
(the quintessential Fire lesson)

Back to Sleep
(prevents SIDS in babies)
and

When Thunder Roars, Stay Indoors.
(weather safety)

care to add any so my brain can free up some new knitting space?

Then There's our Pie.  Her brain must be wired so differently due to her blindness.  She jumped and missed a chair yesterday.......OUCH.  She's fine.  :)

Happy Saturday

Those are very handy sayings! I don't know of any others to add to your list.

And then there's Pie. What a cute picture of her. She looks like the sweetheart she is.

Enjoy your weekend...and a bit of knitting!

Leaves of 3 , let it be is one I learned as a girl scout.

Flip, float and follow is one I learned in life saving, but the one I use a lot is "righty tighty lefty loosy." Something is loose in my brain that makes it impossible for me to remember which way a lid opens.

Sweet Pie is so cute!

Sweetie Pie! I'm glad she's okay.

I learned a new saying today too, but it's not very polite... "Well he really crapped in his best white hat!"

Knitting rhyme:

In through the front door
Once around the Back
Out through the Window
And off jumps Jack.

Yes, and I've found trying to UNLEARN, unwire some bad habits e.g. golf swing are nigh on impossible!! LOL!

Pie's little wires have to be so special... she is precious.

I can't think of another clever saying for the life of me right this moment and fyi, I have completely abandoned straight needles (except the occasional DPN) in favor of circulars. ;) blessings ~ tanna

I've tried gadgets and programs but a pencil and paper still work best for me.
