Suggestions

Have you ever had Hot Pepper Jelly with pretzel sticks?  I suggest you try it.
It makes a fantastic appetizer or snack for a party.  Warning: it is addictive.
Try it you'll like it.

The cake below was on display at the Boar's Head Inn in Charlottesville. Impressive eh?

I've decided I am only going to make one layer cakes around here with my new cake pans.
Double layers is just too much cake for the 3 of us.

They'll be no turning on the oven today that's for certain.  We are 'baking' with the rest of the USA; I'm wishing we could open the windows for a bit....
I hear that Nutella is now an ice cream flavor somewhere....have you seen it?  Do you do NUTELLA?

OH my this is a knit blog.  Well, we have to eat too don't we!

Cheerios has a peanut butter flavor now...I may have to try them.

Fireman has been putting blueberries in his salads lately....yuck.. Not for me.

and finally, have you had Black Cod?  My neighbor tells me it is like BUTTER!  I love Cod. She also told me to read the book 4 FISH...

Maybe I will read that to the cats......

Yes, hot pepper jelly on crackers with cream cheese is tasty too! The cake you photographed is a work of art, for sure! I'm putting blueberries in my yogurt and granola for breakfast and find it all quite tasty. Yeah, if anyone could turn down the heat a few degrees, it would be a relief!!

Hot pepper jelly--YUM! I discovered Nutella through a Weight Watchers recipe. Several times a week DH and I satisfy our sweet tooth with a Nutella sandwich: two graham cracker squares, spread one with Nutella and fat-free Cool Whip then top with the other cracker. I especially love them frozen!

How wrong is it that I am looking forward to severe thunderstorms this weekend to break the high-numbers heat and humidity??

I don't get into Nutella. Mostly because I'm not all that fond of hazelnuts.

I do however, LOVE blueberries!

Hot pepper jelly is tasty no matter how it is served.

It's quite toasty here today! I don't have A/C, so the house is closed up early in the AM: with the help of ceiling fans and floor fans, the house stays fairly comfortable, but it is a relief to open it up at night for some cooler air.

I prefer the powdered peanut butter (PB2) to Nutella - it has 45 calories per 2T serving - very tasty.

I'm in the pepper jelly over cream cheese with crackers group! This is blue berry country, and we love 'em. They freeze well, too.

You've got me thinking about layer cakes now-a Smith Island cake to be exact. Too bad it's too hot to fire up the oven. I guess I'll just have to go raid The Mister's cupcake stash.
As for Nutella-that's a no. It's yummy but nuts and I don't get along.
Blueberries are a yes, if they are not too bitter. The last pint I bought was a yuck and they are not exactly cheap.

I have had pepper jelly with pretzels. It's also very good poured over cream cheese and served with wheat thins.

I like fruit in salad - but I generally keep it to spinach and fruit - blueberries, oranges, strawberries or raspberries, toss from candied walnuts in there and you don't even need dressing. Yummmy.

Peanut Butter cheerios are snack food - by the handful. g

Yep, that hot pepper jelly is ADDICTIVE! We love spicy treats. ;) Hubby LOVES Nutella... I'm not just wild about it... but, of course, that doesn't stop me from eating it! LOL!

I think I need some hot pepper jelly.

What a stunning cake! I wonder who did it? I know BHI has a pastry chef, but that's truly amazing...

It's roasting hot. I'm ready for that cold front.

Yes to the hot pepper jelly , anything that Stonewall Kitchens make is addictive !

Kraft now has peanut butter with raisin , cinnamon and granola . There's also one with cranberries . I tried the cinnamon one , found it odd , the cinnamon overpowers the peanut butter . At least cinnamon is healthy for you :-).

I like the idea of a single layer round cake. I usually make a square 8" (from an old family recipe) or use the box for a 9x13 sized cake. What recipe do you use for your single layer?

Also I am not a big fan of Nutella. Just don't care for it. I've been told I'm weird. Hmm, not the first time I've heard that!!!

And as far as blueberries in a salad, I had a blueberry vinegrette (totally spelled wrong but you know what I mean)that was really good!

I've never tried blueberries in a salad, but grapes and mandarin oranges are good. So are dried cherries or cranberries. Yum.
