Kathy B's Lilac Wine Knit up

I am delighted to show you my FO.  This baby came off my needles last night, while the Bulls lost game 2 in the playoffs.

The Pattern is Savory Knitting's
Lilac Wine.
Since I knit it up in navy/creme I'll call it Blueberry Wine....

She used 359 yards of sportweight yarn

I used 363 yards of Superwash Merino.
Chunky.
Ella Rae Lace Merino
 color 879.

At 23.00 a skien this is a 69.00 dollar
cowl.

This would make a great great gift.  It would also delight me to wear it , throughout next fall and winter.   Guess what?  It is mine.

Channon, you'll be happy to know I have already decided it will look lovely with a creme colored turtle neck top.

This was a very easy knit up in simple ribbed stitches in the round.  It did wear on my hands a bit but not nearly as much as the baby ponchos did.

I would love to knit another for a gift sometime after my wrists and hands recover a bit.

There is nothing Lacy about the Lace merino Chunky Ella Rae yarn.  It is soft and squishy; in the most delightful way.  It is "hand dyed in chile by Aracania Yarns"

Good news: my new Sock Yarn feels so light I'm not in any discomfort knitting today.

What's your good news for the day?

That is a truly lovely cowl, and I am a big fan of the Ella Rae yarns. I hope you'll post a picture when you wear it.

My good news for the day is that it is Thursday, which means tomorrow is Friday, which means I have a 3-day weekend coming up - YAY!

Beautiful cowl and I am so glad you are keeping it for yourself! It is so nice to have something warm and soft that we did just for ourselves!!

My good news is that I get to spend the day with my kids on Saturday. The ER nurse and the fireman are both on duty on Sunday. Some things never change!

Oooh! I'm glad you're keeping it too. Love the name - both the designer's and yours.

My good news? At the moment, the sun is shining!

Love the cowl. It looks so soft and squishy. I never thought I would like one but they really are a cold weather necessity. I need to make more.
Good news? No more patients to take care of. Sister went home to hubby and Daddio can see well enough to fend for himself again. Yay. Nurses rock but I am sure glad I never was one!

It is fun splurge on good yarn and to knit for yourself once in a while! I know you'll enjoy wearing the cowl.

Good news: I have ample sock yarn to keep me busy for a looooong time.

It looks so luxurious! I know it will be a great fall/winter wear. Make sure you take some snaps with the creme colored sweater.

Sorry about the Bulls! In the Bay Area, we are tracking the Warriors ... and knitting. However it sounds like, you should concentrate on the Basketball and get a manicure for the hand massage.

My good news is that it is going to be a beautiful spring day...temps in the 70's!!! I think I'm ready to buy some flowers to plant.

It looks lovely and squishy - and by all means keep it for yourself!

Good news for the day - I conquered a necklace commission that was giving me problems all week. AND rode 30 miles on my bike though I really didn't want to. (Pats self on back.) :)

Such a lovely cowl! It looks like one you'll be able to wear a LOT -- and that's always a WIN in my book!
