 Tis' daffodil time here in Chicagoland....
in the stores that is,
not outside yet.  
That won't happen for at least another month. 

Al shared some stories with me this week:
A mom came to the ER with her child and told Al she had a fever of 114.....
and
that her daughter vomited "The size of a queen size sheet." 
What lack of rest and quiet will do to a mother's brain eh? 
 On the knit front the shawl is so nice to knit...I love the colors.  
I finished another drop stitch cowl this week. 
Kudos to whoever made a drop stitch error part of a design feature. 
It works!!!!

Yes we SPRING forward tonight and in my mind I still gain 23 hours because I'm not working night shift!!!
Oh it was so fun to push that clock ahead at  0200 ...
but I don't miss that magic...
I'll be in my bed this year when the TIME changes 
HOORAY

 and Happy Birthday Barbie...I still love you.

I like to fall back but spring forward is not too fun. I do not get enough sleep as it is.

Gardening has been on those shopping shows on TV. It is too early here. Snow on the ground doesn't make that possible.

Last year between March 14 and 22 we had those days in the 80's--hard to believe.

I'm worried our snowfall killed the daffodils that were just pushing up through the damp earth. Heaven knows the earth will be soft enough now...

No knitting, but so very much reading. Ebb and flow, and the knitting is ebbing, it seems.

We're getting a "spring" storm that looks a lot like winter, and it's heading your way. At least we can appreciate spring flowers inside.

The shawl yarn is really pretty.

I remember the first scarf I made with the YO dropped stitch. Slick! Yeah, makes you wonder if it was a mistake that turned into a design element!!

How I wish Daylight Saving Time was outlawed - who are we trying to fool?

The only blooms around here are in the stores. I bought some tulips two weeks ago just to remind myself that they still existed.

Very little knitting happening at my house.

I'm really a fan of Eastern Standard Time. I like snuggling into the darkening afternoon and cooking a nice supper.

Not so much when it's light out until almost 9. :-(

When I was a first grade teacher, I dreaded the time changes because something happens to the children's brains. It takes weeks to straighten them back out and get your old students back. Now that I am retired it doesn't really matter but I do feel more productive with the longer days. Now if only the sun would get high enough in the sky to put some sunshine on my deck!

Wasn't it just yesterday that we fell back? Yikes! Our daffodils are getting bigger by the day, and I'm hoping they don't do their thing while we're gone! Love the colors in your shawl!

 Is that vague enough for you?  It has been a too busy complicated Spring.  I had no energy to blog.  All is well now, so I can share some things with you:   1. I'm Making Bunny Rabbits

  These are the one square bunnies .  They are a free pattern on Rave1ry.  I'm bunny making to force spring to come.  I'm a1so taking it easy on my hands again.  The med we tried did keep my hands from shaking, but it was a med for a med. and that's crazy town.  I can contro1 a hook much better than need1es.  It wi11 have to suffice for now.  I'm enjoying your b1ogs and your Spring.  This time of year I so want to 1ive in a southern state.  But this Spring is a new one for me and I'm going to find a way to 1ove it.   IT may have just gotten to 50.   Degrees.  I have to run.  There's very ear1y yardwork to do.   The birds have 1eft a rotten mess of sunf1ower she11s under the feeders.  I hope it is not frozen!  Have you been switching things up in your neck of the woods?   I haven't forgotten you, b1og pa1s.  I 1ove seeing you on Instagram .

Do You Smile When You Knit???

I am pretty sure I smile when I knit.  I'm going to think about that today when I pick up the baby blanket in progress.  I am also pretty sure I cry when I knit; well, not really.  I have shed some tears over the years but they were way back.  I surely scowl when I drop a stitch.   A time lapse of knitters' faces would be interesting enough .... Tank, aka Helo, is starting to smile around here.  Just look into those aqua eyes......they make me smile all the time. He is half Siamese and all gorgeous.
