LIke Daughter Like Mother

Al and I both baked cakes yesterday.
I baked a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.

Al baked a cake with coconut frosting.   I think it was a yellow cake.

We both need frosting help....
Fireman can frost a cake beautifully.

I had every intention and wish to finish the blanket yesterday but duty called.   Work is very busy and they asked for help so I went in.
The good news: I got to see irisheyes Lynn!

TODAY I am finishing the blanket.

This is a tiny needle sizer that I got in a swap.  Isn't it cute?
I'm swapping some needles with my knit friend Kathy C.

Off to finish that blanket....
are  you like your daughter in ways?

I have the same needle sizer and love it. It is clipped to my notions bag and always ready when I need it.

Both cakes look yummy, but I'd take the carrot with cream cheese icing in a heartbeat.

I have a needle sizer like that too. So handy. One of my favorite cakes to carrot with cream cheese icing. I was wishing I could reach right in for a slice!! LOL.

Oh I wish I had a daughter, well in addition to the boys I have. Believe me they are not like me at all.
Yummy cakes,
Meredith

I am very like my daughter in ways - or maybe that's she's like me. We both knit and we both cook.

I'm trying to finish a shawl for a brand new baby's momma. Baby came early and I started late. UGH. Hope your blanket isn't fraught with issues like that. g

It's wonderful that you and Al are alike! B. and I are so much alike that people stop me in stores, in Church, even in restaurants and ask if I am B's mom. I think it is just the green eyes but even so it makes me feel really good!!

The cakes look yummy--even the icing!!

I've seen those needle sizers. So cute.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm...doesn't matter how the frosting *looks*, to me it looks DELICIOUS!

My daughter is a complete opposite in every way. As long as we respect each others differences it works out but when we don't-look out for the fireworks.
I'll just leave it at that because now I must go eat some cake.
