Wrapping Up the Week : Recipes and Avon Party

First Let me thank everyone who ordered during my Avon online party.   I received lovely Hostess gifts from Karen today.
A big selection of body wash, body lotions, shower gels and deodorant.  I love all those goodies.
Karen is a great Rep and if in the future you find yourself looking for an Avon representative you know I'd recommend her.
I also ordered a few things during my party:
I LOVE the cuticle conditioning pen.  My cuticles are terrible in the winter.  I love their lip stains.  Finally, Avon sells some things for kids now.  I ordered an adorable lady bug towel for my great niece.  It is even cuter in person;  the hood is the black antennae part of the bug.  So Ding Dong, my party is over.
This week involved some new recipes tested in the Irisheyes kitchen.  The Sweet and Sour Cabbage soup was good, but a tad too strong in the vinegar department.  (and we love vinegar)
I tried another crock pot cake and I adapted the chocolate cake recipe.  This time I let it cool completely and it came out of the crock in one piece.
I call it Butterscotch cake:

I used
yellow cake mix instead of chocolate, I used butterscotch chips instead of chocolate chips, and vanilla pudding instead of chocolate pudding.
The four eggs remained the same as did the 3/4 cup oil,
1 cup water and 16 oz of sour cream.
Cooked in the crock for 5 hours.
Be sure you spray the crock with Pam or the like, before you put the ingredients in.

It came out moist and delish!!!!!

(Momma Lucy Lou and kittens are doing great.)

A party to pamper yourself...there's nothing like it.

The cake looks delicious!! I've got to try a crock pot cake!

So happy to hear the kitties are doing well. Can't wait to see more pics!

Oh shoot!! I forgot to finalize my order. Dang... I could use a cuticle pen too. I have cuticle cream and MJ uses a brush-on cuticle oil, but I need convenience and no mess.

Gg got wound cleaning at the weekend vet clinic today. Tomorrow, we meet our probably new vet and hopefully, the drain comes out.

My MIL is an Avon lady and still going strong at 93. We all look forward to her gift giving as we are sure to get some Avon goodies.
Cake in a crock pot? Now why didn't I think of that! I wonder what I have in the pantry......

Crockpot cake is possibly one of the most wonderful baking advances ever made. I'll definitely be saving this recipe.

I've never been to an Avon party before, but I find it comforting to know that they are still happening. I consider that type of marketing (like Tupperware) part of our country's heritage.

Hi Kathy, I have been a lurker on your site and figured I'd better be a follower if I wanted to do this right. I blog as well and another blogger got me involved in this. She nominated my site for something called the Liebster Award. it's not really an award, but I guess it's a way to get small bloggers pages "out there". So, if you'd like to play along I posted 11 questions on my page that you answer on your page and then you ask 11 bloggers 11 questions on your page and they answer on theirs (crazy I know). Anyway, I enjoy reading your blog and thought you might like to do this. My blog is: ladonnaspage.blogspot.com

I must have blinked because I missed the Avon party! Of course this is the time of year that this sort of thing happens to me. I don't even bother to ask "where was I?" because I know my head was in the black hole known as end-of-year!!

Can I have a link to your Avon friend's site or some way to contact her before the skin totally crumbles from my hands?

Really? Cake in the crock pot. I'm gonna try that - maybe on Saturday when I have company for dinner and then I can rudely put out leftovers on Sunday when somehow I'm hosting the Superbowl Party. How did that happen?

Glad that Miss Lucy Lou and the babies are all doing well. g
