Knitting and Nature

Lucy Lou and her 4 kittens are thriving this morning.
It was a rough go yesterday.
She had trouble laboring.   The last two of the 6 kittens were born much later than the others and were dead.  Kitty angels.  Circle of life and all that.
But the 4 that were born alive are  thriving this morning and
Lucy Lou is feeling great.  She's eating and drinking and
running to meet me at the door.  Then she runs back to show me her babies...
2 grey 2 black.

Even though I've seen many babies born, in my nursing career, it is always a thrill.   This is my third time bearing witness to cats give birth.

I'll really enjoy knitting in the NURSERY room today watching all the kittens and their sweet momma.

Thanks for all the well wishes.  I haven't looked to see if they are girls or boys yet....I like to stay hands off in the beginning.
We can just bring her pink and blue flowers.

Congrats to you on your new little family and I'm glad Lucy Lou is doing fine.

You are the second of my friends to have birthing news. Mary adopted a rescue boxer dog a few weeks ago and got the bonus of eight new pups on Thursday night. She went from a 3 dog household to an 11 dog household over night. LOL

What sweetness! So many kitty angels in heaven, who wouldn't want to eventually end up there?

Once you can, please kiss all the babies and mama for me.

Have a lovely weekend!

Don't tell me if one is a black boy with a splash of white under his neck. Socrates was a great kitty... :(

Enjoy your nursery knitting! Congrats to you and Lucy Lou!

I guessed 4 kittens, though I didn't guess four out of six (so sorry about the last two babies!!!) Now I'm guessing two boy and two girls. This is fun sharing your fostered kitties!

I hope you have a lovely day knitting in the nursery. I know Lucy Lou is comforted by your calm presence.

Oh I'm so, so happy to hear that mommy kitty is doing alright especially after the difficult labor. You are going to have so much fun watching those little guys grow. It reminds me of this woman who had a litter of kittens that the shelter couldn't take, so she set up a 24 hour kitty cam that streamed on the internet. Every last one of those kittens were adopted in no time. It pretty much got me though exams of Spring 2011

Oh what sweet little darlings. When our daughter was very young, 35 years ago, I made a wonderful bed in the closet for our Momma cat to have her kittens... HaHa, in the middle of the night, Jill yelled Momma......and Rustina delivered all 6 kittens on Jills bed. So much for the nice nursery I made..
By the way, I answered your clotted cream question in my comments on that post.
Thanks for stopping by.
