All Politics Aside...If I Lived in the White House

While I'd never be President, I love history and it is fun to imagine living in the White House.

*There would be knitting baskets, red white and blue, in many of the rooms of the White House.   I think I'd have them designed to look like fishing baskets....

*I wouldn't use the basketball court, but The pool would get lots of use.   Of course, I'd have a couple of golden retrievers and they would be invited to swim with me in the pool.

I'd have my friend Gee train the dogs and then I'd love to work them and give them treats.. White house dog treats....

*There are 35 bathrooms in the White House.  I would insist on lovely foam soap in each one of them. I love soaps that foam.
Best part of all, I wouldn't have to clean any of them.

*Presidents have loved jelly beans, pretzels and popcorn.  Andrew Johnson loved popcorn.   My White House popcorn would be hull-less and I love white popcorn.

*I'd have a clowder of cats that could roam the big House.  (by the way Rosalyn and I love Rosalyn Carter)

*Mental Health would be my platform....just like it was Rosayln Carter's platform.

*Someone would design Pant suits for me and I'd wear blues and aquas often.

*My pretend friends would be invited to knit with me in the White House, Of course.

*and finally,
I'd learn as much as I could about our History and the Magnificent Home that Americans call the White House...

Love that sneak peak of your log cabin. If you lived in the White House I think the world be much more peaceful. Can you imagine negotiation talks over knitting? Women do it all the time and sort out all the troubles of the world. g

It's definitely time for this country to have a woman President and a First Man.

I like the image of knitting baskets throughout the White House.

What a fun post. Interesting to think what a knitter would do to the decor of the White House. Ha.

Wow! That blanket is looking good! I would love for you to be President and invite us all to a virtual knitting party at the White House! I would want to pretend sleep in each bedroom and sit up all night waiting for a visitation from each President. A knitter would make a good President!!

Cute post! Lots of mixed and deep thoughts about the next four years, but your post made me smile!

I've been working in Washington DC for the past few months so I couldn't help but get caught up in the excitement of it all this week. Even though I have lived here on the outskirts all my life, I never realized what a beautiful city it is.
There was a big knit/crochet-in scheduled as part of the MLK/Inauguration weekend. Even though I missed it, I am happy to report that fiber folks are duly represented in our nation's capitol!

Oh this post is so cute! I think that you have quite the plan for your stay in the white house : )
I don't think that I could handle even being one of the presidents children, so much pressure!

Fun! And you could knit a blanket for each of the beds... Yours is looking really good, BTW!

Great post! If I lived in the White House, I'd have official knitting spaces, warm, inviting spaces with squishy chairs, cake,
and yarns from all 50 states to choose from. Thanks for reading and commenting.

I would go and knit in the White House no matter who was president! If you were there, it would just be a plus :)
