TIPS for Hurricane Sandy and Knitting TOO

I'm a far cry from my kids these days.  My kids are grown ups.  I don't want to nag them.  So can YOU?  AL is on the Hurricane Sandy pathway.....
any tips for her?

I have bookmarked and Fav'd WAVY 10 News, her local station.  I am used to Tom Skilling of WGN local fame and Jim Cantore of Weather Channel fame...
I have to trust the Wavy 10 Team now....

My Second child sock with afterthought heel is well underway....
I like to hunker down with knitting during snowstorms....
all of you in the path of SANDY the Frankenstorm, hunker down.
Stay connected.  Call your MOM

Al, call your Mom!

Mom, relax and knit, knit, knit. ;o)

A bit of canned food (something you can eat cold), bread and peanut butter, water a couple of candles and flash lights and batteries. She will be fine. The hospital is probably the best place for her, is she working this weekend?

Sandy is going north, so AL won't have to deal with a direct hit this season, but Mereknits has good advice. I'd add a full fuel tank for her vehicle to the list too.

All good advice!! I can only add that if, during this hurricane or any other, Al is told to pack up and leave--LEAVE!! We have family and friends who didn't leave when they were told to and wish they had.

And Mom--rest easy. She is a smart girl!!

A bit of extra cash is nice, too, in case the machines don't work, and sometimes the stores can only take cash when the power is out. Amazing how you continue to worry about your kids even when they're all grown up, isn't it? BTW, you've had the cutest headers lately!

We have prepared here for Sandy. Cleaned out our rain gutters, made lots of ice, stored some water, bought lots of batteries for our lanterns, charged up the Kindle Fire and most of all, printed out my knitting patterns and have lots of yarn!!

Oh honey, I am a momma of two adult girls and I am worried sick about them and one still lives here with me and one is about 20 minutes away!!! I will pray for your baby chicks (esp the one in the path of this storm). It is just something us momma's do (and I might add I do REALLY well!).

Non electric can opener, lots of water, batteries and flashlights, toilet paper, make sure all things that run on batteries (computer, cell phones ) etc. are fully charged.

Can your Momma Al!
