Perfect Knit Spot

What's with the ugly pumpkins this year?  Leave it to Halloween to make an anomaly a commodity.

Today I am writing about my perfect knitting spot.  Truth is, there's lots of them....

*on a plane to take my mind off the fact that I'm suspended way above the Earth where the GOOD Lord put me, in a tiny little chair

*on my back porch in the summertime evenings when the crickets sing ..... truthfully .I do not have the perfect chair for knitting out there..yet...

*with knit friends at our local pub.....the waitress even gives us separate checks without asking now and Carol and Karen always let me have some of their fries...

*in my tiny cozy home in front of a crackling fire in the fireplace....truthfully I don not have the perfect chair for knitting inside yet either...

This post prompt leads me to the realization that I don't have a good enough chair/couch/lazyboy for knitting in my own home.   I have short stubby Hungarian legs and they don't reach the floor easilty on a standard chair or couch.  In order to sit with my feet touching the ground I have to sit way forward on the sofa.   I think a lovely pillow is in order......

Do you have a perfect knit spot?

After retiring, I purchased a reclining wing chair. Before selecting the "right" chair, I took my knitting needles to the showroom: I wanted a chair with arm low enough to allow me to knit comfortably. I placed the chair by the east window, so I have good light in the morning and afternoon. My evening knitting nest is in another room.

I love all your spots....I think mine is outside in my wicker chair when the sun is going down and the air is cool. So while I have a great chair, I do not have the perfect weather, well maybe three days a year when it is not hot, humid, freezing or raining.
Hugs,
Meredith

I knit in bed!

I love to knit on the sofa with the dogs piled up around me. Sissy gets hot and ditches me, but Gg loves to either be in my lap or press up against me while I knit away.

I often knit in a lazy gal chair in the living room, but that means I am subject to the tv shows DH wants to watch, which often are too much suspense-wise for me. I also enjoy knitting propped up in bed, but this is not as comfortable because I don't have arm rests. I NEED to check out the screen porch knitting possibilities, especially this time of year. I have a rocker out there that would probably do for knitting, but I need to get a cushion for it, because it is rough on the bottom after a while.

In the living room I have a great stuffed rocking chair which fits me quite well. In the evenings I can knit and watch TV from this comfortable spot.

I have a perfect knit spot in the perfect recliner, in front of the fireplace and the TV BUT I leave it all to knit on the patio. In the summer heat I turn on the misters and watch the horses in the field and the dogs playing in the yard. I have been known to sit out there in a snow storm (with a little heater) but only for a short time!!

Mine is watching football with my family - we all sit down and I don't feel guilty for sitting on the sofa for hours and knitting because we're all together.

My perfect knit spot is in the passenger seat of a car, driving along the highway with not a lot going on out the window.

Lately, though, my knit spot has been at my desk between papers while I give myself a much needed Hulu break!

I think the passenger seat of the car is my favorite knitting spot. There's really nothing else to do but knit!

BTW - those ugly peanut pumpkins are all the rage. I know they're strange, but they do look like they have peanut shells growing on them, right? Good name.

I just got home from a plane trip cross-country, and my knitting was a lifesaver!

I don't think I have a favorite place to knit, though. I just like to knit wherever I happen to be.
