Animal Kingdom

Rozzy got out of her carrier on the way home from the vet yesterday.  She was a wonderful passenger.  She's 15 now.   Rozzy is clearly enjoying the fall foliage....
These ponies evoked such wonderful memories for me last week at the pumpkin patch.  I was flooded with thoughts of my first pony ride.  I remember the music played and the horses walked around in a slow circle so that I could be a cowgirl......I remember wishing the music would go on and on so I could keep riding.  I waved to my mom, "SEE ME??" and held on to the saddle horn tightly....
I first fell in love with horses this way many years ago.....did you?  (I resisted, at 52, asking the woman if I could get up on one of those ponies again and ride around and around ....but oh I wanted to!)

The pride is adjusting to the fall weather around here.   I have had a cat on my lap as I've knitted the past 2 nights.   Different cats a different times; I know well enough that they are just cold...and seeking a warm lap.   They purr so loudly though,  it makes me think they love cuddling up to us just the same.

Tank tries to bite the yarn as I knit away.  He only does this with wool yarn, not acrylics....He's a yarn snob.

I love to hear a cat purring: it is comforting, especially those that sound like rumbles and can be felt as well as heard.

I love horses!! I think, after dogs, they are my favorite animal. Growing up in Arizona horses were a way of life. Now that we live in Texas they visit us every morning and hang their heads over the back fence asking for apples or carrots.

What a cute picture of your cat looking out the car window. That would be a fun picture to take from a passing car!

I love it!! Gg will sometimes ball up in my lap while I knit, but Mugsy was almost always there.

And why didn't you ask to ride the ponies?!

Love the new header! Love the ponies and the memories. I've never been a huge fan of horses, loved them and did do some riding, but.....

The picture of your cat is so cool. Love it. I do not have a cat at present, but I really miss my little Lucy's purr as she was cradled in my arms. Loved when she would fall asleep on my lap. Great memories. I got a kick out of your desire to get back on one of the horses; thanks for sharing your childhood experience on a pony.

Tank and I would get along perfectly because I am a yarn snob, too.

Our first cat, Molly Bloom, used to travel with us a lot. When we would ride on the turnpike, she would do what Rozzy is doing when we stopped at toll booths - which always got double-takes from the people working! :-)

I adore your Rozzy riding in the car! Cats bring us so much JoY! I was always afraid of ponies/horses!

Rozzy is adorable!!!! And still quite agile for 15! Yes those cold days tend to bring out the cuddliness of the kitties. I've been know to have up to four at one time on me! They find various ways to be attached while ignoring the other felines. If they dont see them, they dont exist!
