Row After Row After Row

Lake Michigan is busy today.   Row after row of big waves splash the summer sandy shore.  There are rip tide warnings being issued.  Lake Michigan is nothing to fool with whether swimming or boating.
I have a healthy fear of the Lake.   Healthy fears....is that an oxymoron?
My first square is completed.  I left a long tail for weaving the sqaures together. I"m open to lazy suggestions of other square stitch patterns.  I like row after row of simple knitting.  Your suggestion need not be garter.

I'm thinking of a pattern swap.  Anyone interested?   I may do a take and replace pattern swap. I"ll put my patterns in a box and then we take and replace.....

Let me know if you want to swap patterns.  You have to be open to any kind of pattern.  If you have purchased a pattern and you fell out of love with it, pass it on.  If you find a pattern or create one that you love, you can pass that on.  I think this would make an easy interesting swap.

Healthy respect is the term I use in the same way you used healthy fear.

And I'd have to actually be knitting to swap patterns. I hope to correct that this weekend. Surely holding a 2 wk. old will abruptly end my knitting hiatus?

I love a good basket weave pattern myself, love how the result looks like weaving. Thanks for being so lovely,

There is definitely healthy fear! And, if you are wise .... you'll USE it. LOL

I can't believe the number of people that give the lifeguards at New Smyrna Beach a hard time when they spot sharks and call the swimmers in. :::rolling my eyes:::

Some people need a good dose of healthy fear and maybe a little shot of common sense while we're at it.

I love the pattern swap idea! I am a sucker for patterns. I keep stacks of books filled with patterns and love to thumb through them. I wish I could knit all of them! I'm in.

The square is such pretty colors. Can't wait to see it joined to others equally as beautiful.

Count me in on the swap! I probably even have magazine issues that could be contributed.

Yes indeed, healthy fears are what keeps you alive when there's really something to be fearful of. It seems week after week kids who aren't afraid when they should be get caught in the riprides of Lake Michigan and drown. Mostly they and their parents don't know the lake well enough to realize there is a danger. Do you have riptides at your Chicago beaches?

When we were on lake Michigan a few weeks ago the undertow was very strong ....had to stay pretty close to shore. Whatever you are knitting sure looks pretty!
